Advanced Rich Text Editor - Problem when used on repeating groups

Hey guys!

I’m having a problem using the ZQRTE element within a repeating group. I have several personalized pages and within each page I have several sections that contain the ZQRTE in read mode.

I had to use the ZQRTE element in edit mode because if I use an HTML element to show the HTML content of ZQRTE, the format will not be the same as when editing.

The problem is that when I navigate between pages, the content of the ZQRTE is not updated, even though the main reusable element has the updated content.

In the following pictures you can see that I loaded the page at “Page 1” with the content “Testing 1” but after I clicked to navigate to “Page 2”, the content still “Testing 1” and it should be “Testing 2”. I also recorded 2 Loom videos showing the problem.

In the following video you can see that we navigate the page but the content on ZQRTE element is not updated.

Now in the following video, I created a text element that shows a simple Text element that is updated when navigating between pages.

Thanks in advance!

Hello @Vinicius_Andrade,

I have responded on the mail but will write here as well to make sure you receive the message.

We have tested a use case similar to yours on this test page [link], and it is working and changing the content correctly. The content is parsed properly whether it is read-only or not. Could you please check and see how it is setup on that page?

In your case, please recheck how and which data you are parsing in the element. You can also use the “Inspect” tool to verify this [image].

Please note that while we offer general guidance on the plugin’s main functionalities, bug reports, and improvement requests, we do not provide customization or development services.

Thank you for your understanding. Have a great day!

Best regards,
Stefan

Hey Stefan,

I don’t think you watched my previous videos… The problem isn’t within the same repeating group. The problem is when I navigate between pages and I have all the sections updated. If I have a rich text element on index 1 of the first page and I have a rich text element on index 1 of the second page, we have the wrong entry inside the rich text element.

Also, as you can see on my previous video, I created a simple Text element at the same level and pulled the same data as the rich text element and you’ll see that the Text element is updated while the rich text isn’t.

This is the video: Rich Text Testing | Structur - 1 July 2024 | Loom

Also it isn’t about customization or development, it’s only a bug that I would like to have fixed but if it’s not possible we can try to find another solution. I’m open to share my app with you if needed.

Thanks,
Vinicius Andrade

Hey Stefan,

Just an update about the issue. I managed to find another plugin which I guess have the same base of yours but it’s working correctly.

Take a look on the following video:

Thanks,

Hello @Vinicius_Andrade,

Thank you for your message.

Given the complexity and scope of your application, it can be difficult for us to fully grasp and reproduce the issue from our side.

Could you please add our Support Team email to your application’s list of collaborators and share the app’s link with us? This will allow us to directly access your settings and attempt to replicate the problem.

To add our Support Team as a collaborator, navigate in the Bubble Editor to: Settings > Collaboration > Add email support@zeroqode.com.

Additionally, could you provide detailed instructions on how to reproduce the error? We would appreciate details like the specific page name, group, repeating group, plugin element settings, and any workflows involved. Also, if you could include a short Loom video that walks us through these steps, along with user credentials for login, that would be immensely helpful.

Thanks for your cooperation and understanding.

We look forward to your reply.

Best regards,
Stefan

Hey Stephan,

I appreciate the attention on this case.

To make it easy I created a new app with the same structure and behavior for testing and I invited support@zerocode.com as an admin so you can work on it if needed.

To simulate the error you can just navigate between pages and you’ll see that the content on rich text element isn’t updated. Also you can use “username” and “password” as credentials.

Hello @Vinicius_Andrade,

Thank you for your message and for adding us as collaborators in the test app.

I have reviewed the setup and noticed that auto-binding wasn’t configured for the RTE, which prevented the content from updating automatically. After configuring the auto-binding for the content field[image], it now functions correctly when navigating between different pages.

Additionally, on the “index-test” page of your app, I have set up an example using the plugin’s “Set Text/HTML” action and the Orchestra plugin, which is free and allows triggering element actions within the RG.

Could you please review both pages and let me know if everything is clear and working well for you?

Thank you once again. I look forward to your reply.

Best regards,
Stefan

Hey @Stephan ,

I’ve updated the plugin to the latest version and enabled the auto-binding option and now it works smoothly.

Thank you so much for the attention.
