Advanced Rich Text JS error

Hello,

I really like your Adv RTE plugin. I am using the alpha version of the ZQ RTE.

My scenario is I have a Wiki and I allow folks to edit it. I first tried to put the editor on a popup with autobinding turned on. Your control does not show any problems with the autobinding… This resulted in JS errors when the popup is shown saying it cant find the object (ID of the RTE)

I added it to the main form, inside a repeating group. I make it visible when something is clicked.This does not result in the null object, but it does shoot out the following

Any help would be creatly appreciated

Thanks for reaching out to us.

The Advanced RTE should be working well with Autobinding feature, as well as within pop-ups and repeating groups. I’ve just tested it and it appears to be functioning correctly on our end.

To better understand what went wrong in your case, could you please share more details about your use case? Specifically, screenshots or a screencast of how you set the plugin element, your page layout, how the errors appear, and the desired outcome would be very helpful. When recording the video, please go step-by-step—from the moment you open the page until the error message appears—and be sure to check each action in the debugger.

Thank you f or your response! Here are some screenshots to answer questions:

The scenarios for this page the user is looking at a Channel Wiki. The wiki is self contained in a Reusable element and the Wiki thing is passed in as the data for the reusable element.

Within the RE the user can create wiki sections and within each section you can add topics. The Topics are displayed as an RG and then an HTML control is shown initially. If the user clicks edit the HTML is hidden and the RTE is shown instead. Here is a look at the editor for the RE.

I’ve reviewed the information you provided, but I haven’t found any specific settings that might have caused that error message. To investigate further, could you please add our Support Team email to your application’s list of collaborators and share the app’s link with us? This will enable us to review your settings and replicate the issue on our end to identify the cause.

To add our Support Team as a collaborator, please follow these steps in the Bubble Editor:
Settings > Collaboration > Add email: support@zeroqode.com

In addition, please provide instructions on how we can reproduce the issue on our side, including the name of the page where the plugin element is located, as well as the group, repeating group, plugin element configuration, and any related workflows. A brief description of where to click, along with user credentials (if needed), would be very helpful. If possible, please also attach a short Loom video or screencast showing the steps to reproduce the issue.

The navigation panel will change to a list of units/teams/channels. Click on Administrative Board → Missions → Overview

I tried to check the app but wasn’t able to reproduce, and the images you shared in thread seem to be unavailable. Could you please share again the exact steps to access the app, which page to open, whether we need to log in as a specific user, and how to reproduce the problem?

Thanks for your message and for sharing the video.

After reviewing your app, I’ve identified that the issue is related to the [Alpha] RTe element from the latest 1.188.0 version—this element was still in testing mode and was accidentally deployed.

Could you please try replacing it with one of the other two available elements? Additionally, to avoid any confusion, please revert to version 1.185.0 until we update the plugin again.

Sorry, I spoke a little too soon. The second time the RTE is used to display the text the previous text is retained even though I display the data item with the popup. Here is the video

Thanks for your message and update.

Great to hear that changing the element type solved your previous inquiry. Regarding the alpha element improvements, we’ll likely incorporate them into the current ZQ RTE element if everything continues working as expected with them.

As for the content not updating: the pop-up’s RTE element supports only one initial content. In your workflow, it wasn’t set to load the new content. To resolve this, please add two actions when opening the pop-up—first, reset the content, and then set the Text/HTML to the newly selected content.
