Agora Video Plugin (Bubble) - Is there a way to record video during video-chat?

Hi, I’ve bought the Agora plugin and can do the web-video-chat with no issues - all working on mobile and desktop.

The feature I am missing is for a user to be able to record it’s own video during the vide-chat. Is that possible somehow?

I thought maybe I could have the “streaming component” hidden and working at the same time and doing a recording so the user wouldn’t see what’s happening behind the scenes and would still be able to record the video. Do you think this is possible? If yes, can I save the streaming recording to my bubble app’s “folder” / storage / database?

If the above is not possible or if there is another less complicated way to do the recording and saving to the bubble’s app database, could someone let me know or share any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @claretimus,

Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, it is not possible to record the video-chat with our plugin, but you are able to record a live stream (a different component) and get the output video. However, it is not possible to save it to your Bubble database because it is uploading the resulted stream in the cloud.

Please check the plugin docs on Streaming component - https://docs.zeroqode.com/plugins/agora-api-connector-plugin/agora-streaming-component/agora-cloud-recording-for-streaming-component and check the demo with its editor as well, to check on how it is set up!

Hope it helps.

Best,
Alex
