Air date/time picker - Group focus issue

Hi everyone,
I use the air date/time picker in my app. It works perfectly except in group focuses. Indeed, when I select a date, It closes the group focus which isn’t great for the UX especially for data ranges.

I read a previous post on this issue which shows the exact same issue ‘Air date/time picker in Group Focus’ in 2022

The answer was to use the new plugin element Air date/time picker v2 instead of “Air date/time picker” but I can’t find this one on the marketplace.

Best,
Luno

Hello @lunomis,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

I’ve noticed the concern with group focus as well—it looks like the Air picker’s calendar pop-up is interpreted as an external tooltip, which causes it to close during interaction. I’ve already forwarded this to our development team to explore possible solutions. I’ll keep you updated on any progress.

In the meantime, for your specific use case, you might consider enabling the “Display Calendar Always” option in the element. This should prevent the group focus from closing when interacting with the Air picker.

Could you please try this in your app and let me know how it is working for you?

Also, I’d like to clarify that the “Air date/time picker v2” was a temporary name for the current element used in earlier versions of the plugin, and is unrelated to the concern at hand.

Thanks again, and I look forward to your response.

Best regards,
Stefan

Hello @Stephan,

Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately, the “Display Calendar Always” doesn’t look to work well in group focus or maybe I missed something in the layout settings. As you can see in the attached screenshot, when the calendar is always displayed, It is above the “input box” and even if it doesn’t close the group focus, when I click on any date, nothing happens.

Hello @lunomis,

Thank you for reaching out.

Our development team is currently looking into your request regarding the Air Date/time picker element interaction with Group focus to determine if there is anything we can do on our end regarding it. I will keep you updated as soon as there is any news.

Regarding your additional questions about the calendar being always displayed, could you please provide more details about your concerns? You mentioned that the calendar appears above the “input box.” Have you tried positioning the element below the input so that both elements are visible in your use case? Additionally, you mentioned than clicking on a date will do nothing, could you please provide more specifics? What exactly do you mean by “nothing happened”? It would be helpful if you could send screenshots or a screencast showing the problem you’re experiencing, the current result, and the expected outcome. These details will help us better understand your situation and provide a more accurate response.

Thank you, and I look forward to your reply.

Best regards,
Stefan

Hello @Stephan,

When I mentioned the “input box”, I was referring to the box in which selected dates should be displayed. And by “nothing happens”, I mean that even if I click on a specific date, this date isn’t selected.
I uploaded the screencast on Vimeo but I am not allowed to send you the link since I am a new member. How should I proceed to share you the file?

BR,
Luno

Hello @lunomis ,

Thanks for your message.

It seems you may have encountered a security restriction on the forum which prevented you from sharing the screencast link. I will investigate this further to determine the cause and to change them.

In the meantime, please feel free to send the video to our email at support@zeroqode.com. Also please, ensure that you capture both the picker element settings and how the focus group is configured on your page.

Thank you once again, and I look forward to your reply.

Best regards,
Stefan
