There is a bug with the Set Initial date when the element is in a repeating group.
Even if the date is set correctly, the first display is the current date, then when you hover the element it displays the correct date from Set Initial Date.

Can you please share some screenshots of the setup you are trying to build? This will allow us better understand your use case and the scenario you are trying to achieve.
Also for screen recording, I can suggest you use the Loom tool, you can use it to record a short video of your screen.
