Algolia plugin search results not as expected

I installed Zeroqode’s Algolia Search plugin and followed the instructions in this video from Zeroqode.

The issue I’m having is that I expect each record in my Algolia index to show up in each row of my repeating group, but instead the data is getting mashed together in each row like this…

This is a snapshot of the csv file I uploaded to Algolia to create the index…

I would expect that each record in my search would show up in each row of the repeating group…similar to how it looks in the above csv/spreadhseet.

This is how two of my records (for example) appear in Algolia…

Here is how I have the Algolia plugin setup in Bubble…

And here is how the repeating group is setup…

Any advice on how I can get this search working correctly would be most appreciated.

Hi @eddie1,

Thank you so much for reaching out and for the detailed explanation.

Could you please provide us some screenshots of how the text element inside the Repeating Group is set up. As you can see in the screenshot below from out Demo Page, all the elements should have “Item #” and “Current cells Index” after them.

Please give this suggestion a try and tell us the results!

Hope to hear back from you soon :hugs:

Thanks, @dorel ! That did the trick. I needed to add the “Item #” and “Current cells Index” to each text element as you suggested. Now i’m seeing one record per repeating group row as intended.

My search still isn’t working quite right though. For example…when I type in “Firm B”, it’s showing a few results for Firm C (I only want to see results for the firm I’m searching for).

Similarly, when I search Firm C, I’m getting results for all 3 firms instead of just getting results from Firm C.

Any suggestions on how to fix this so that I’ll get accurate filtering / matching?

Much appreciated.

Hi @eddie1,

I am very glad to hear that it is all working now

Regarding the search in the repeating group, do you use any specific plugins for the action? If yes, could you please tell us what plugin you are using? Screenshots of how you set up the search functionality would help us figure out how to assist you the best we can!

Thank you for your cooperation!

Cheers :hugs:

Hi @dorel,

The only plugin I’m using for the action is the Zeroqode Algolia plugin.

This is how I set up the Zeroqode Algolia plugin…

And this is how I set up the repeating group…

Please let me know if there is any other info I can provide.

Much appreciated.

Hi @eddie1,

Thank you for the details about this issue!

We are currently working on it with the developers in order to provide you with an answer. Please be patient while we look into it, we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Your understanding is very appreciated

Cheers :hugs:

Hi @eddie1,

Thanks so much for your patience. There are two ways for the search action on the plugin.

The first option is through the plugin element. To do it, enable “Only as a search” checkbox, then specify the value of the desired input in the “Query” field. If the search query is more than 3 characters, the search results will be displayed (state “Result”).

The second option is the action “Recent Searches”, in order for it to work, the “Only as a search” checkbox needs to be disabled and the “Query” field to be empty inside the plugin element. In this case, initial content will be received and the search results will be in the “Result Recent Searches” state, the results of which must be written to the conditions in the repeating group for each of its elements.

Please give these suggestions a try. If you encounter any problems regarding this or another plugin of ours, contact us here or at support@zeroqode.com.

Have an amazing day :hugs:
