Audio / Sound Player Howler.js Pro - Event question

Hello,

I am attempting to track the number of users who listen to an audio until its completion. I initially used an event “A Howler Pro Has Finished Playing,” but I’ve discovered that this event fires whenever the audio is stopped, regardless of whether it reached the end or was manually stopped by the user.

Therefore, my question is: Is there a method to trigger a workflow only when a user listens to the entire audio (or, as a bonus, at least 80%)?

I know you have that event in other audio player plugins, and I know howler.js has this feature, so maybe you can add that event to this plugin, too? :slightly_smiling_face:

Hey @Nick777,
Thank you for contacting us.

Thanks for this idea, I have passed it on to the developers and they will check if we can add this idea in the next plugin update.

As soon as I have a response from them, I will definitely get back to you.

Have a sunny and productive week! :cowboy_hat_face:

Best Regards,
Anton

Hey @Nick777 ,
Thank you for your patience.

I’m excited to share that we have updated the Audio / Sound Player Howler.js Pro to version 1.7.0 (added new event).

Could you kindly update the plugin within your app to this latest version and confirm whether everything is now operating smoothly?

Feel free to explore the plugin’s functionality on our demo page.

Your patience and cooperation throughout this process have been greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,
Anton

That’s great news! But I don’t see the update… :)))

Hey Nick,

I double-checked the update to this plugin and I have everything working fine. (Screenshot)
Please try to update the plugin again and let me know if it worked.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Best Regards,
Anton

Ok… now this is super strange.

How is this even possible? I now have two subscriptions for the same app. And mine is 5$, and this new one is 7$. So, I tried to remove my current 5$ one and install a new 7$ one, but it cannot be done because it deletes all Plugin elements, messes up all my workflows, and crashes my app. What did you guys do?

My “old” one looks still is stuck here

Hey @Nick777

I’m sorry you’re facing such a problem.
I have checked in different ways how the update of this plugin works, as well as consulted with the developers and everything is working fine from our side.

It looks like the error is not on our side but on Bubble’s side, so we would advise you to contact their tech support directly and I’m sure they will be happy to help you (support@bubble.io).

Thanks for understanding!

Best Regards,
Anton

So, I got the answer from Bubble support…
"
Just heard back from the team. We’ve looked into this, and it appears that the two plugins are actually different. The first one—the one without the update—seems to be the original plugin you had. It’s not currently visible in the marketplace and is marked as hidden for new users.

This version is live in the marketplace. It would be helpful for you to follow up with Zeroqode and share this context, asking if they can clarify the discrepancy. It looks like the plugin you saw in the marketplace is technically a different one, even though it shares the same name and logo and is also associated with Zeroqode.

Hey @Nick777 ,
Thank you for your reply.

Initially the conversation was about the PRO version of this plugin and we have updated it to the new version 1.7.0.

On your screenshot we can see 2 plugins, most likely they are Lite and PRO versions.

Please check the Audio / Sound Player Howler.js Pro Plugin for Bubble, we have updated it to the new version and added the feature you requested.

Looking forward to your reply.

Anton

No, Anton, they are both pro versions, clearly visible in the screenshots. Where do you see the Lite version in any of the screenshots? I am a senior developer, and this response is really…not ok. :person_facepalming:

So, you had a Pro version that cost $5, reuploaded a Pro version for $7, and stopped supporting/removed the $5 but failed to inform me about the change. (Bubble support also confirmed this.) Now, in order to have an up-to-date plugin, I will need to refactor all my workflows manually. And I’m now paying for both of them.

So, I lost 25 days in this back-and-forth with zeroqode and Bubble support, and I am deeply disappointed that, in the end, I will have to spend hours/days switching from one “pro” to another.

Hey @Nick777 ,
Thank you for your reply and sorry for long wait due to the weekend.

Let me consult with our Product Managers and get back to you with an answer when we have settled this point.

Thank you for your understanding

Hey @Nick777 ,
Thank you for your patience.

Due to an unexplained error for our team, you are left with 2 identical plugins.
On April 24, 2024, we redesigned the plugin and created a new plugin (if I may say so) and removed the old one from the Bubble Marketplace.

For reasons unknown to us, you are now left with 2 plugins instead of 1.
After consulting to the development team, we came to the conclusion that the best solution to your issue is to remove the old plugin, which is no longer supported, and install the new one, which is updated to the new version - 1.7.0 .

Thank you for your understanding!

Best Regards,
Anton
