AWS Compress File

Hi! I am using the AWS File Uploader Plugin, and it is perfectly working, but I have a question, does anyone know or has an idea on how can I compress the files I am uploading in my S3 Bucket?

For example, when I upload a particular video with 600 MB, this file will be uploaded to my S3 Bucket but it will be compressed, or it will be reduced its size on the bucket.

I am finding a solution so that it would not take up too much space on my S3 Bucket. Hoping someone could help me here or have documentation or an idea on how to do it.

Thank you!

Hello, @gesme
Thanks for your question here.

One of the possible solutions here - is to use the zip files for uploading. You can convert the big files into zip files, so they will be smaller.
After converting, you can upload them to your S3 bucket.

Another solution is to use a plugin for compressing files. You can look for such a plugin on the Bubble marketplace

Please try it and let me know if it was helpful.
Best regards,

Hi @Ecaterina

Thank you for that idea but I came up with a concern, If I will upload zip files into the s3 bucket, how can I view it on my website?

For example, I will upload a zip file of a video to my s3 bucket, then will it play on my bubble website if I am going to retrieve it using the file’s URL?

Another thing is I am looking for plugins in the marketplace, but what could you recommend?

Thank you!

Hello, @gesme

Indeed, you can’t preview the zip file, but only will be able to see the generated URL and download the file.
Unfortunately, our plugin is not able to compress the images.

I’m not able to recommend to you any third-part plugin since we are not working with them :slightly_smiling_face:
It all depends on your ideas and characteristics of the compressor:

Best regards,
