AWS File Upload Plugin crashes the page on upload

Hi, my page is crashing when trying to upload a video using the AWS File Upload Plugin. The video contains 1.5gb and 14524kbps. I tried uploading another video with 2.6gb and 12754kbps and it worked. What could be the issue? Here’s the video I’m trying to upload: Engaging With Followermp4.mp4 - Google Drive

This is the file uploader element I use

Seems like the memory usage spikes significantly before the crash.

Hi @rodrigoaoliva1,

Thanks a lot for reaching out to us and I sincerely apologize for the delay over the weekend

To recreate the issue and provide more information or a fix, could you please let me know some more details? It would be helpful to see the configuration you’ve set up for the File uploader element, the actions/events set up in case something triggers the crash, the current version of the plugin installed on the application, and a demonstration of how the issue occurs.

This information will give me the best chance to replicate the issue or provide more details on the matter. You can include these details in a screen recording (using a tool like Loom.com) and share the URL with us.

I hope to hear back from you soon and get to the bottom of this!

Best regards :sunflower:

Hi, thanks for your reply. I don’t have any actions or triggers associated to the file uploader.
I’m using the latest version of the plugin (1.195.0) and here’s how the uploader is setup:

Hi @rodrigoaoliva1,

Thanks a lot for the details!

I was able to reproduce this issue on my end, and it’s strange why it only affected this specific video. I successfully uploaded a 5GB MP4 file without any crashes.

An investigation task has been created for the developers to check and provide more information on why this behavior is occurring. I’ll get back to you as soon as more information becomes available!

In the meantime, please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns :hugs:

Best regards :hibiscus:

Hi @rodrigoaoliva1,

Hope you’re having a great holiday season :hugs:

The developers have looked into the issue you reported about the page crashing when uploading a specific video. We’ve tried various fixes, but none have resolved the behavior unfortunately :pensive:

After further consideration, the developers have decided to migrate the Beta uploaders and actions as the regular uploaders and remove the previous elements (which are currently in use on your application). This means that in the next versions, the GUI and NoGUI uploaders will be replaced with the Beta ones, which will require a different setup. You can still use previous versions that have both kinds of uploaders, but we will not be able to provide any further fixes or improvements in the future!

Please refer to the documentation for instructions on setting up the Beta uploaders. If you have any questions or issues with the setup process, please let me know. I’d be happy to provide more information. From my testing, the Beta uploader doesn’t cause the crash when uploading the video file you provided earlier.

Best regards :sunflower:
