AWS File uploader - Any size Resizing/Cropping issue

Hey, so I am trying to use this plugin for an app that I am building (I am new to Bubble, so bear with my noob-ness).

What I am trying to implement is for the user to upload their profile picture. When the page that this plugin is located in is loaded, there is an initial value set for the image. I have disabled Image Resizing and Cropping for that.

But when a user uploads their own image for their profile, I want to add the option to allow them to resize and crop it. Apparently, it is not working for me. I have tried conditional statements and also tried custom states.

Any help? And please do ask me for any additional details. Kudos!

Hello @asad.rana2000,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

From your message, I understand that you want to change the initial crop and resize settings of the element. Is my understanding correct?

It is totally possible. For instance, you can create a custom state (img), and in the plugin element, use conditionals like this: when the state is ‘yes’ → change the following settings (img). This will allow you to modify both the crop and resize settings, among others.

Could you please try this workflow and let us know how it goes and if it was you were searching for? Also if you have any further questions or need more assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thank you once again, and we look forward to your reply.

Best regards,
Stefan

Hello @asad.rana2000,

I hope this message finds you well.

I wanted to follow up on our previous conversation regarding the custom crop and resize settings for the element in your application. Have you had a chance to try out the workflow I suggested with the custom state and conditionals?

If you’ve tried it, I’d love to hear about your experience—whether it met your needs or if there’s anything else you’re looking to adjust. If you’ve encountered any issues or if you have further questions, please let me know. I’m here to help ensure everything works smoothly for you.

Thank you once again, and I look forward to your feedback.

Best regards,
Stefan

Hi Stephan, I apologise for the late response.

Regarding the solution you provided; yes, I have tried that way and it still does not work. What I did:

  1. Set a custom state for the Fileuploader element (img - with default value “no”)
  2. Added the conditionals that when “img’s value is ‘no’”, the initial value should be “a-certain-image-i-am-adding-using-an-external-API” while when the "img’s value is ‘yes’:, the initial value will be the picture uploaded by the user
  3. I am changing the state’s value from ‘no’ to ‘yes’ when the user clicks on the “Remove” button (which removes the initial value set upon “no” and resets the values)

I do appreciate your time. Although I have troubleshooted the issue in another way for my app to work, but I would still appreciate solving this issue with you.

Kudos!

Hello @asad.rana2000,

Thank you for your message.

I’ve tested the issue based on your steps and confirmed that the initial value is indeed not changing when using the conditionals. I’ve forwarded this matter to our development team for a deeper analysis and to provide a better answer and resolution. I’ll keep you updated as soon as there is any information available.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. If you have any other questions or concerns in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Wishing you a great day ahead!

Best regards,
Stefan
