Bubble Page to PDF converter - select PDF quality

Hello,

I’m interested in you Bubble Page to PDF converter plugin.
I read you had to define a specific PDF quality to insure a good server performance/quality balance.

I want to have print quality PDF results, with photos in them. These are 1 page pdfs, A6 to A4 format.

Is there a way in the plugin to adjust the quality?

Thanks,
Guy

Hey, @gyangting!

Thank you for your message.

Yes, there is a way to adjust quality.

At the moment we are working on a new Demo for this plugin, that will represent this feature, however, the new version of the plugin is already available. Kindly update your plugin’s version to 1.50.0 and then, in the workflow setup you will have a new action:

Then you need to set up the parameters in the same way as you were doing with the old version. With this new action, the quality of the PDF is significantly better:)

If there will be any additional questions, let us know.

Best regards.

Hi,

I just purchased your plugin but was not aware of the quality issue. I tried to use the option “server side” but I can’t get it to work. My main concern is quality so the time it takes to convert the page or element wouldn’t be a problem. How can I achieve the best quality? Also I want to convert bubble pages not html.

Thanks

Hey, @christian2895!

Thanks for reaching out.

Its setup is almost the same as the old version. Can you, please, specify, what steps did you take so it didn’t work? If you can provide some screenshots or a screencast, it will be easier to spot the issue and help you with that.

The best quality can be achieved with the “server side” plugin action. So kindly provide more details about your actions, so we can help you with the setup.

This plugin does not convert only HTML, it also converts Bubble pages and elements. The HTML field is optional and not necessary. HTML fields are responsive for the Header and Footer of your page - so in case you want to have them after the conversion, then you can use those fields.

Best regards.

Hi! Thanks for the quick response

Here is the whole setup:

When trying to run the workflow from the frontend the console shows the following message:

Let me know if you need anything else

Best regards

Hello, @christian2895!

Thank you for the details provided

As I see from your 1st screenshot you put a parameter “no” for file uploads. In this case, you will be getting errors, like in the other screenshots. Kindly change it to “yes” and try again.

Let me know if there will be any other questions.

Best regards.

Hi,

I just changed the parameter to “yes” but the problem persist. The same error message seems to appear in the console logs.

@christian2895,

It is quite strange, to be honest. Can you please add our support@zeroqode.com as a collaborator of your app? We will take a look at your page and plugin setup, do a few tests and try to figure out the root cause of your trouble.

Thanks!

Hi Elena,

I currently have that app on the personal plan so I can’t add any collaborator at the moment. Any other way?

It does not matter what Bubble subscription plan you have, as our support account is on the Agency plan. You can add it to the list of your collaborators no matter what subscription plan you have. :slightly_smiling_face:

Ignore the warning alert and freely add our account to the list of your collaborators.

Perfect! I just added de email address. You can check inside the page called templates

Thanks

We’ve run some tests and figured that there is an issue with the files upload. I’m going to pass this task to our developers, so they can take a deeper look and fix the error.
Due to the upcoming weekend, I’m kindly asking you to give us some time, and approximately on Monday or Tuesday, I will get back to you.

I hope that won’t cause a significant delay for your project

Have a good weekend!

Hello, @christian2895!

Thank you so much for being patient

After our developer had checked the setup parameters of the plugin’s action “Generate pdf from html server side”, and the following was found: if there are no values chosen for padding:

e.g they are left blank, the plugin will throw an error, that you were getting.

You can check out our test page, that we made for you - zq_test. There are 3 buttons, that are displaying and downloading selected PDFs. Buttons 1 and 3 do have values for the padding, button number 2 doesn’t. So you will be able to see that pushing Button 2 gives the same error.

You can use our test page as a reference in order to set up the functionality on your page.

To conclude, in order for the mentioned action of the plugin to function properly, kindly fill up the value fields for padding. It can be 0 or anything else, but it shouldn’t be empty.

Kindly test it out and let us know if you’ll have more questions.

Best regards.

Hi,

I have added the values and the plugin is now working. Thanks for the help. However, the quality still isn’t ideal. Is there a way to get an even better quality? Thanks

Hey, @christian2895!

Am glad I could help

About the quality: at the moment it’s an updated version of the plugin with improved quality, comparing to the previous one. We are looking for the possibility to improve it even more, also adjusting the time for files’ download.

If there is anything else I can help you with, drop a line here.

Best regards.

Thanks a lot for the help Elena,

I will be waiting for any news related to this.

I am also struggling to send the generated file as an attached document in an email or even get the file URL. Saw a couple of other topics in this forum but still hasn’t been able to make it work. Is there any specific setup like this one?

Thanks again

Hey, @christian2895!

In order to check your setup and test it out in your workspace, I’m gonna run some tests and will get back to you ASAP.

Best regards,
Elena.

Hi, @christian2895!

In order for this state to work, kindly make sure, that, first of all, you are using a new action of the plugin “Generate pdf from html server side ConvertortoPDFv2.0 A”, and, second, you are ticking the checkboxes as it is shown in the screenshot:

Because, for the plugin’s state to fulfill its function, you need to upload the file first to your database (in will be saved in the file manager), therefore it can return the converted file’s URL.

On our page zq_test in your app, we’ve created a text field, that will show the URL of the converted file, check it out.

Best regards,
Elena.
