Calendar (Drag and Drop) - no schedule is being saved

Hi ZQ-team,

as of yesterday I have subscribed to the drag and drop calendar plugin for testing before buying. Based on the demo I really like the plugin and it appears to be what I am looking for, however, I cannot get it up and running. Having said that, the problem is certainly with me - I am working with Bubble for about three weeks or so and and I am certainly still a bloody rookie - so I apologise for naive questions

I have set up the plugin based on your documentation (hopefully correct), see screen shots below:

I have no problems setting up a new calendar, but for something I am doing wrong, I cannot get a single appointment to be saved.

While I am inputting data into the popup screen, non of the fields is being update, not while I am moving from entry to entry nor anything after I hit the save button:

Even when I hit the save button, the popup is not being closed - nothing happens …

the properties of the page shows as follows:

Again, I am sure I have made some setup mistake or so, but based on the documentation and reading some threads here in the forum, I did not get any further and sure do hope that you will find a chance to help me!

Thanks!

Cheers

Sven

Hello @svenschuldt

Thank you for your questions.

We’ve tested the plugin and it seems like everything works on our demo page. Can you please provide a video recording of you trying to create an event?

Also, have a look at our demo editor and see the settings of the element and use it as an example for your own case, and it will be very useful if you can make a screenshot of calendar element settings. This information will help us to understand your issue and resolve your issue as soon as possible :slightly_smiling_face:

Looking forward to your reply.

Take care.

Hi Kirill,

thanks for your kind support!

The calendar settings are as follows:

Hope you can read that …

Obviously, I looked at the dem editor before and used the settings (except of the colours, but that should not makle any difference, should it ?!

So, I recorded a video and while doing so I realised that the time indicators on the left hand side are gone while scrolling - is that only on my side as well?
Where can I upload the video - I do not see an option here in the forum … so I made it available via dropbox, hope that works! video file

Cheers

Thank you for the screenshots and the video recording @svenschuldt

I have noticed that the name of the data types in the database are Calendars and Tasksevents, while in the settings of the element you have DB_calendars, and DB_calendarevents, which means there is no connection between the plugin element and the database.

You have to change the fields of the calendars table and events table in the element of the plugin to the same names that you have in the data type names. Please make sure that the name for Calendars in the database is Calendars, and the name for the Events table is Tasksevents, and match these names in the element of the plugin.

Please configure the element of the plugin just like in this screenshot, and leave the configuration in the database just like you have in your screenshots, Calendars, and Tasksevents.

Please let me know if this fixes your issue.

Take care.

Hi Kirill,

argh - stupid me, I used wrong screenshots, as I had a different set up before - of course, that would not work as there would be no connection but the current set-up has a direct connection - must have, otherwise the reference to the calendars would not work.

By the way, it says in the documentation: “First let’s create a type for calendars table, add fields as in example below, you can name this type any way you want but for fields use names as in example below” - I actually want to use a different name, as I am using a specific naming convention for tables (even if Bubble calls them “type” and the DB records “things” ), starting with “DB_”.

However, even using the naming you suggested, it unfortunately does not work … I have attached another video showing the data types as well as a preview on a simple screen set up. None of the scheduled input is being written into the DB.
Also, you see again the lack of time indicators while scrolling.
Last but not least, it is a bit cumbersome to select the date and before the user can choose the time slot the window closes and the user has to click the date picker again to be able to choose the appropriate time slot - twice in a row.

I have recorded a video again, which you can find here.

Thanks for your help!

Cheers

Thank you for your patience and the additional information @svenschuldt

It seems like the calendar works on our demo page and when testing it on other pages it works too. I would like to figure out what is the problem with the calendar in your app.

To figure out what is the issue on your end, we would need to have a look at your settings and preview if the plugin works in your app. Would you be able to add us as collaborators on your app? You have to do in your Bubble Editor, go to tab “Settings”, select “Collaborators”. Then add our support@zeroqode.com email. Please, ignore the warning (you do not need paid plan to add us as collaborators).

Please let us know the page where we can test your issue, and we will get back to you as soon as possible

Looking forward to your reply!

The problem certainly sits in front of my keyboard - so, please don’t worry - as I have mentioned before: I am a bloody rookie, when it comes to Bubble.
I have added you as a collaborator and advise you to use the very simple page “Calendar” which only shows your plugin … just for testing purposes.

Thanks a lot for your kind help!

Thank you for your patience @svenschuldt

I’ve sent your case to our developers to figure out what’s is the issue. Please do not revoke access to the app so that our developers can take a look into the issue with the calendar.

I will give you an update on the progress on Monday.

Please let me know if you have any other questions

Hi @Kirill,

thanks for the update - as a matter of fact I do have some questions, as this situation kind confuses me:

  • am I the only one having this problem or is every user having this issue - or don’t you have any active users?
  • what is your best guess when it will be resolved - after all, this is a subscription, literally being paid every day for ( a little amount per day, though;) )
  • you habe another calendar plugin, which covers more functionality - does this have the same problems?

Thanks!

Thank you for your questions @svenschuldt

  1. As for the creation of events in the calendar, we haven’t had users who had problems creating the events until now, but it does not really matter whether its 1 user having a problem or many users experiencing the same issue, as we are trying to fix the problem as soon as it arises.

  2. I do understand you but unfortunately, I do not have the exact time when it is going to be fixed but our developers are currently working on the issue and I will update you on that as soon as it is fixed.

  3. Yes, we do have another calendar plugin called the “Air Calendar” plugin. We have over 280 plugins, so it is obvious that some of the plugins will have some issues and bugs, therefore we can’t say that certain plugin does not have any issue at all. Every plugin is tested, but there are still some bugs that arise as there are many use cases of the plugin, so we appreciate users who report the problem to us, and it helps us to fix bugs asap :slightly_smiling_face:

Please let me know if it answers your questions.

Have a nice day!

Hi @Kirill ,

any news form your side?

Meanwhile I have looked at a series of other plugins from your company and quite a number make a useful impression, however, the support does not, I’m afraid.
The problem with SaaS applications or tools is that if they do not work and there are no other regulations the user is still paying for them while not being able to use them. Even though this is a low amount I still keep paying this low amount for a non-functioning tool and if I am willing to subscribe to more of your tools, I am afraid that continue paying for non-functioning assets.

I would be very thankful if you could please provide me with an update and an assumed date of resolution.

Thank you!

Thank you for your patience @svenschuldt, and apologize for the late reply.

The issue with the calendar event creation function has been fixed. Please upgrade to Version: 1.31.0 and let me know if the event creation function works in your app.

Hope everything works well.

Have a nice day :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you Kirill,

thanks for the update and indeed the calendar seems to be partially working now - I can set up a new calendar and schedule a new event also based on different table names. Thank you!
However, I still see the phenomenon with the time indicators disappearing on the left hand sied - while scrolling. That is: only the time indicators are gone for time prior than the current time - please see attached screen shots:

That seems to be a bug - is your team looking into that?

Thanks!

Thank you for the questions @svenschuldt

I have analyzed the settings of your calendar and it seems like in the past time settings you have set a color to white, which makes the past time to be invisible as it is on the white background.

See this screenshot Screenshot by Lightshot, you have to change color to black to see the past time :slightly_smiling_face:

Please let me know if you have any other issues.

Take care.

Yep - my bad!

Before I keep on shouting stupid around like a Karen I rather wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year - all the best and thanks for your help!

Cheers
