CamCapture stays on after being told to stop

Hi,

I’m LOVING CamCapture, but one issue persists…it continues to show that it’s recording in the browser after it’s off.

Here is my workflow:

Otherwise the functionality is great…but it’s creeping out users that the camera stays on after they tell it to stop.

I did see that version 1.43 fixed the “turn off” issue and I upgraded to this latest release…curious if I’m doing something wrong of if there’s a bug.

Thank you!

CB

Hi @cbray,

Thanks for reaching out to us and for the kind words :hugs:

Could you let me know what devices and operating systems you’re experiencing this on? You’ve upgraded to the latest plugin update, right?

Additionally, can you share how you have the plugin set up? Are you automatically turning on the camera, or are you manually triggering it using the plugin actions?

Thanks so much! I hope we can get to the bottom of this as soon as possible!

Best regards :sunflower:

Thanks @dorel ,

I’m using a MacBook Pro on Sonoma 14.4 OS. I’ve had the same issue in Brave and Chrome browsers. Customers have also reported the same issues (didn’t log browser).

I’m using the latest version (I selected from dropdown on the plugin page in Bubble).

Automatically turning on the camera. So when the page loads, I see my face via the camera. The weird thing is that I then turn the camera off and it stops showing my face on the screen (It’s in a group that has an image as the background, so that shows up), but the red record in the browser keeps showing!

Hope this helps.

CB

Hi @cbray,

Thanks for the information, I really appreciate it!

Could you please share some details about how the plugin is set up on your page? For example, the camera turns on, users take pictures/videos, and then they turn it off, correct?

I’d like you to check if the camera icon is still present before you record a video. For instance, if you load the page and turn off the camera without taking any images or videos, is the camera icon still present?

Best regards :hibiscus:

Here’s some more info.

Here’s how it’s setup on the page:

I also added the following condition to hide the camera element when the user is not on the page where we record, but the red dot persists in the browser.

Here’s what it looks like when I get to the page. Nothing is recording yet and there’s no red dot in the browser.

When I click “Record Again”, it shows my camera and it starts showing the red dot in the browser:

When I click stop, it turns off the camera on the screen, but the red dot in the browser persists.

Any ideas?

Hi @cbray,

Apologies for the delay over the weekend!

I tested on my macOS device on Sequoia version, and the light turned off as expected. I tried to replicate your setup as closely as possible, but I wasn’t able to replicate the issue. We’ll continue testing on other devices and get back to you with more updates!

Best regards :sunflower:

Hi @cbray,

We’ve tested across multiple devices, but unfortunately, we haven’t been able to replicate the behavior on our end.

Would you be able to grant collaboration access to your application for our support account (support@zeroqode.com) and provide the URL to the Bubble editor? Additionally, please share the steps on how to replicate this issue, such as which user to use, what page to visit, and any other specific instructions if the process is not straightforward.

Best regards :hibiscus:
