Services Plugins FAQs

Cannot load Google Calendar data

Good morning,

yesterday I have read through the topics so far concerning this subject but unfortunately I did not make any progress.
I have subscribed to the Air Calendar in order to test it before buying. Key criteria is for me to have it populated by my Google Calendar entries - however, I just do not get it done :wink:

This is what I have done so far:

  • I have integrated the plugin in my bubble app, including the Google Calendar API, which I have generated through the Development Dashboard - I have checked several time that it is the correct API.

  • I have then integrated the calendar into one screen, added the Type of Events to it and update the Google Calendar settings as required

  • I have also made sure that the calendar is publicly available:

  • I have entered some test data into the Google Calendar

  • but form some mistake on my side, I am sure, it does not show up

What am I missing here - any help is highly appreciated!

Cheers

Hello, @svenschuldt!

Thanks for reaching out!

The most probable root cause of the issue you got is the incorrect API key you have generated. Please follow the steps in this article again (events from Google Calendar - Docs | FullCalendar) and create a new project with fresh keys. If the instruction in the article seems to you outdated, please use the following:

  1. go to Google Console;
  2. create a new project;
  3. go to APIs & Services > Library: enable Google Calendar APIs there;
  4. go to APIs & Services > Credentials: create new API key;
  5. copy API key and paste it to the plugin’s field;
  6. the rest with enabling the public access to your calendar is the same.

We have tried to recreate your issue and we presume the only way to fix it is by creating a new API key.

Please try the suggested and let me know if it worked :pray:

Regards,

Hi Lera,

thanks for the update and apologies for the late reply - but I was dealing with some issues :frowning:
I have followed your suggested process and it worked - for the first try, then it did not …
So I have played around with the API, generated another one, worked and then worked not, played around again and then generated a third one … for some odd reason that works now, but I do not feel cofortable with it.
I am not quite sure where the problem is - the plugin or Google (let’s say Google :wink: ) but there is some problem with it and if you ask me it is just a question of time until it fails again, I guess.

Well, let’s see - thanks a lot for your kind help!

Cheers

Hello, @svenschuldt!

Thanks for your feedback!

It is very strange that the situation is unsteady, but I am very glad that the plugin works properly and at the moment the error doesn’t appear anymore. It means that the settings were made correctly.
If the issue repeats or you have any more questions, please let us know at any time.

Regards,
