Doe the Uplance Template deal with VAT or Sales Tax?

Hi

I want to use the Uplance template for a niche freelancer community. Some of the potential freelancers have their own Ltd companies that are Vat registered, some are not Vat registered, or are sole traders.

How does the template deal with Vat (I guess a similar problem in the USA)

Thanks
Mark

Hi @markcoulson863,

Thank you for your interest in the Uplance template. Our template is designed to provide basic functionality for a freelance platform, and it doesn’t have any specific features related to handling VAT or other tax-related matters.

However, the template can be fully customized to suit your specific needs after purchase.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Best regards,
Gulce

Hi @markcoulson863 ,
I do not have access to the specifics of the Uplance template. However, in general, VAT (Value Added Tax) is a tax that is added to goods and services in many countries, including in the EU. The rules regarding VAT can vary depending on the country and the type of business structure.

In terms of invoicing, if a freelancer is VAT registered, they will need to include VAT on their invoices, which means they will charge their clients a higher rate than non-VAT registered freelancers. The VAT amount charged can be reclaimed by the VAT registered freelancer as input tax against their output tax liability.

It’s important to note that each country has its own rules regarding VAT, and it’s important to ensure that any invoicing templates or systems used comply with these rules. If you have any specific questions or concerns regarding VAT and the Uplance template, it may be best to contact the Uplance support team directly for assistance.
