Drag & Drop Repeating Group - Error when ordering images

Hey,

I’ve just purchased the Drag & Drop Repeating Group plugin (the one previously own by Minimum Studio). I used it in an other application and it’s working well but I have a issue for my usecase.

I’m trying to reorder a list of images but I keep having this error after moving an item:

Bug in custom code TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'split')

Here is my configuration:

Is there something I’m not doing properly?
Thanks for your answer.

Hello @louisdv,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Regarding the error message you received, it is caused by the data source used in the Repeating Group. To resolve this, please use a data type in the “Type of Content” field instead of a basic type “image”.

Could you please try making this change and let me know if it works for you?

Thanks, and I look forward to your reply.

Thanks Stephan for your answer but if I change the type of the RG, it won’t do what it’s suppose to do… :grimacing:

In the Drag & Drop plugin, there’s a select for the datatype and I choose “image”, so it should work, no?

If not, I lost $60.

Hello @louisdv ,

Thank you for your message.

Regarding the use of the Basic type in the Repeating Group and the error message you’ve encountered, I will check this further with the development team and provide a better answer when I have more information.

However, you can still achieve the same result by choosing a Data type from the database and then pointing to the right values you want to display in the cell. As for the Drag and Drop element, the “Data type” value there is needed for saving the order purposes and to have the “Sorted items” state available.

Also, could you please share a screenshot or screencast showing how exactly you set up the element, RG, and the data source you’re trying to use? This would help us better understand your use case.

Thank you, and I look forward to your reply.

Thank you for your answer.

Unfortunately, I want to display a list of images of a Thing, so I can’t put a Basic type into the RG:

Hello @louisdv,

Hope this message finds you well. :hugs:

I have some exciting news for you. Our development team has looked into your request and decided to make it possible for the Basic types to be used in the Repeating group used by the plugin, as it will indeed improve the plugin and make it accessible for more use cases such as yours.

To give it a try, please update the plugin in your app to the latest version - “1.10.0”, test it out, and let me know if everything is running smoothly on your end. Your feedback is extremely important to us.

Thanks again, and I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Wish you a great day ahead!

Hello @louisdv,

Thank you for your message.

I apologize for the inconvenience. I have checked and found that the changes were not saved due to a Bubble server issue at that time. A new version with the updates will be available today, and I will inform you as soon as it’s ready.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Have a great day ahead!

Hello @Stephan,

Thanks a lot for this followup and the modifications by your team, unfortunately it’s not working.

The basic type “image” is not supported as the drag and drop element delete the URL:

When I try to drag and drop an element, this happens:

Thanks.

Hello @louisdv,

Thanks for your message.

I have troubleshooted your concern with different settings, but it appears to be working correctly each tome on our side. For example, please check this test page where I have used image types in both repeating group and element, and they are dragging accordingly: drag-drop-rgrp | Bubble Editor

To better understand what went wrong in your case, could you please share a screenshot or screencast showing how you set up the element, repeating group, and workflow? If possible, please record a video in step-by-step mode to show exactly what happens when you drag an element.

This will help us better understand your use case and provide a better answer.

Thanks, and looking forward to your reply.

Thanks again @Stephan for the time and effort you and your team put into this issue.

I think I see the issue here. You are using a “image element” as I have my image as a background of a group:

Is it possible for you to handle it or do I need to modify my structure?

Hello @louisdv,

Thanks for your message.

I have tried changing the test page to use the image as a background for a group, as you did in your case. However, it works fine in that scenario, and this shouldn’t be causing any problems.

To better understand what went wrong in your case, could you please add our Support Team email to the list of collaborators in your application and share the app’s link with us? By doing so, we will be able to examine your settings and replicate them on our end to pinpoint the cause.

To add our Support Team as a collaborator, please follow these steps in the Bubble Editor: Settings > Collaboration > Add email support@zeroqode.com.

Additionally, please share instructions on how to reproduce the issue on our side, including the name of the page, workflow, a short description of where to click, and any user credentials needed to log in so that we can troubleshoot the reported issue.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Looking forward to your reply!
