Hi
I have inputted all the expressions as directed by your demo but When I input "Search for ‘thing’:each item’s unique id" into Things on the DragableRG plugin the repeating group freezes and I cannot sort at all
Thanks in advance

Hi @rlgh770,
Thanks for reaching out!
Please let me explain the key points in order to make it work.
First of all, make sure to create a new data type called “Order” (number) in your “Collection” database table. It is obligatorily needed to save changes in the repeating group (the element’s order, when you change it) for making it possible to sort the RG’s order via the plugin element.
For the repeating group setup, specifically, the Data Source: after adding the Order table, you need to change the “sort by” parameter to “Order”, and set “Descending” to “no".
As for the plugin element setup, please make sure you have set the correct settings of the “Things” and “Sort data” fields. They should correspond to the “Order” table.
Here is a short video for a better understanding: Loom | Free Screen & Video Recording Software
Please let me know if it helped or if the issue persists.
Best,
Gulce
@Gulce
I have managed to get the sort drag working to a fashion. However when I include data for a second user ( ie two users with access to different content) it breaks down. the workflows trigger but only the one of the two different user data will save position.
Also the New sort item and draggable refresh randomly don’t fire?
Also can you clarify, you mentioned the draggle plugin generated the order number. I have only managed to get this to work if I create a workflow when creating a thing to generate a base Order Number of 1 Is this correct? If i don’t the order number is just blank and the draggable plugin has nothing to calculate
@rlgh770, sorry for the late reply due to the weekend.
Would it be convenient for you to share more details about what issues you’ve encountered?
Namely, screenshots and screencast of your setup, the issue you see, expected result, for screencast recording I can suggest using the Loom tool.
Thanks!
When Drag Sort works the dragged element bounce back to original position for a split second and draggable RG is refreshed. If it does not bounce the refresh did not work and original positions are reset
@rlgh770, Thank you for the video.
From the preview side, it’s quite difficult to tell what can cause this issue, unfortunately. I’ve tried to recreate your case, but the issue is not reproducing on my side.
Here is a test page that I’ve created for you: Zeroqode-demo-23 | Bubble Editor
Please see the correct setup and try to recreate it on your side.
In case the issue still persists, would it be convenient for you to share access to your app so I can take a look?
For this please add our support@zeroqode.com email as a collaborator of your app (disregard the warning, our email can be added to the collaborator list even if your app is on the Free plan). And please let me know the page name where the issue is found.
Looking forward to your reply.
Regards,
Gulce
I have video tape both you demos NOT working as expected. As you know I cannot change any settings on this so this is a bug in your plugin
Hi @rlgh770,
I’ve checked the plugin once again and please allow me to note that this behavior is not stable on our side. Therefore, I was not able to see the issue as the plugin’s behavior was as expected at that moment, sorry about this.
I’ve passed this to our developers and we will need some to investigate it, as soon as I have any news I’ll get back to you.
Thanks!
no problem happy to beta test
any update on the bugs
Hello @rlgh770,
Thanks for your patience.
First of all, please let me point out that this case is not related to the plugin itself. This is how Bubble changes the element positions when we reset sorting. As a workaround you can use a spinner in RG that will show when the item is moved. Sorry for not being able to help with this.
As for the order numbers, it was related to the “Refresh RG” action and now everything works properly. I have made a short video for you, here: Loom | Free Screen & Video Recording Software | Loom
Also, you can check our test page here: Zeroqode-demo-23 | Bubble Editor
In case I can help you with anything else, let me know.
Regards,
I seem to be having the same issue, when I enable sorting, I can move the groups around the RG but the changes are not persistent once I refresh the page. Is there a specific workflow I need to set up for it to make the change?
Edit: Nevermind, I was able to figure out the workflow, however I noticed that the plugin will give two different items in the list the same sorting number. Is there a way around that or is that just how the plugin functions?
I noticed in the demo the sort # is kind of long, do I need to configure mine a certain way?
Edit: I copied the workflows from the demo however I am noticing that when I move around the RG, items will jump around to random locations
Hi @Justin.J,
Thanks for reaching out!
It’s about how many times each order is dragged. Since it’s a test page, it’s normal for it to be this long. To make it possible for the plugin to understand which changes to save, you just need to assign a serial number to each cell (each section) and save it in the database. Screenshot by Lightshot
I’ve tested the plugin but the issue is not reproducing on our end. So, let me please share my setup with you: Loom | Free Screen & Video Recording Software | Loom
Could you please check the Loom and compare it to your setup? In case the issue persists, please share a video recording showing the issue and your whole setup. This will allow us to identify any possible cause much faster.
Thanks!
Best regards,
Gulce
Sure, here is a Loom of what I have. It is set up correctly I believe. There is a major issue going on with nested RG which I have in the video as well.
It seems like the error occurs when the RG is refreshed through the workflow “Refresh RG DragableRG”
Hi @Justin.J, thank you for the video.
Yes, you are right. We’re already aware of the nested RG issue and our developer team is currently working on it.
As for the wrong positioning, to speed up the investigation process, would it be possible for you to add our support@zeroqode.com email to the list of your app collaborators? We will create a separate test page to perform plugin tests on it and copy the page where you have faced the mentioned issue to test it and provide a solution.
You can ignore the warning about the subscription plan, limiting the app collaborators number. Zeroqode is on an Agency plan and can be added to any Bubble app as a collaborator.
Thank you. I will be waiting for your reply.
