Hello @peter.nilsson,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
Yes, it is entirely possible to generate a PDF using backend actions without downloading the fileājust saving it. For examples, please refer to our demo page: PDF Conjurer Plugin for Bubble | Zeroqode
Could you please try them out and let me know if everything works well for you or if you have any further questions.
Thanks again, and have a great weekend ahead!
Best regards,
Stefan
Hi Stefan,
Thank you for coming back on this,
Iām actually using the PDF Conjurer to precisely this.
My thought was to be able to do the same with a simple text file and not having to use a PDF. Would that be possible?
Also, itās a a little complex setup creating the actual file in the Bubble file storage. I guess this is the way it is or am I missing some super simple way to just create a (text) file there for my app?
Best, Peter
Hello @philledille ,
Thank you for your message.
Indeed, the PDF Conjurer is designed exclusively for creating PDF files, not .txt files. For your needs, you might consider the Text Conjurer, however, please note that it does not offer the same features as the PDF Conjurer.
Another solution that could be helpful is using a file conversion tool to convert PDF files into TXT files. One such tool is the File Converter plugin. To be sure it will work for you can can firstly subscribe and test it to ensure it meets your needs. You will only be charged for the days you use it.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Thank you, and I look forward to your reply.
Best regards,
Stefan
Thank for Stephan for bringing more insight into this matter.
I understand your suggestion. Converting PDFs to text add only complexity in my use case. But I can stay on using PDF files, but was just wondering if there was a simpler way to generate text files instead (not passing through PDFs)?
Thanks.
Peter
Hello @philledille,
Thank you for your message.
Iāve explored solutions to your query and found two Zeroqode plugins that can assist with generating Text files. The first is Text Conjurer, as previously mentioned, and the second is the CSV & TXT File Creator plugin.
Additionally, we offer options to sponsor the development of new improvements and plugins.
If you are interested in sponsoring new features for an existing plugin, please fill out the Sponsoring Plugin Features Form to initiate the review process: Interface Form - Airtable
We will then assess your request and provide an estimate of the hours and associated costs required. Our sponsorship packages start at a minimum of 5 hours, priced at $200 per hour.
We look forward to collaborating with you and better serving your needs.
Best regards,
Stefan
Thanks for putting in the effort of checking this stuff.
I thought about using the Text Conjurer, but it seems it only allows me to download the files. I want the file saved to the appās Files to be able to send it to another service via an API call.
It looks like CSV & TXT File Creator plugin also just download the file created, right?
Thanks.
Peter
Hello @peter.nilsson,
Thanks for the message.
Regarding the Text File Conjurer, you can actually save files using the āUploadā action and the āurlā element state. However, Iāve encountered some issues with this action during current tests, and have reported them to our development team for further investigation and resolution.
As for the CSV & TXT File Creator plugin, unfurtunately it currently does not support saving files directly to the database.
I hope this information is helpful. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.
Best regards,
Stefan
Thanks Stephan for looking into and also testing stuff.
Sound like Text File Conjurer could be the way to go. Could I trouble you for a ping when the issues are resolved with that so I can run a test?
Thanks,
Peter
Hello @peter.nilsson,
Thank you for your message and apologies for the delayed response over the weekend.
We are currently investigating the issue and will update you here on forum as soon as the new version is ready. Additionally, you can share your email with us, so we can notify you there as well, allowing you to further test it on your end.
Thank you again, and I wish you a great week ahead!
Best regards,
Stefan
Thanks for the update.
Have a good week you too.
Hello @peter.nilsson,
I hope this message finds you well.
I wanted to inform you that we have investigated the issue with the Upload action and identified that the problem originated from the page where the demo is hosted. Meaning that the plugin action is working correctly just as before.
Could you please check and let me know how it works for you? You can use the element state āurlā to access the link to the newly created file.
Thank you for your patience, and I look forward to your thoughts.
Best regards,
Stefan
Big thanks Stephan for finding this.
Please give me a little time to check this.
Best, Peter

Hello @donavan ,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
To help us better understand your use-case, could you please share more details about your setup? Specifically, we would appreciate screenshots or a screencast showing how you set up the workflow, the elements involved, the issue you are encountering, and the desired outcome. Additionally, could you confirm if you are referring to the Text Conjurer plugin and not the PDF Conjurer?
Thank you once again, and I look forward to your response.
Best regards,
Stefan
