Fuzzy search and autocomplete - case sensitivity

Hi all,

I’m using the fuzzy search plugin and I’m searching through the ‘name’ of data type “organizations” in our database. However, I want users to be able to search without case sensitivity, so i have the case sensitivity button unchecked, but it still only searches with case sensitivity. Would love some clarity on this!!

Thanks

Hello, @raasil
Thanks for reaching out.

Can you please let me know if you have checked the “Find all matches” checkbox Screenshot by Lightshot ?
Also, this behavior could be related not to the “case sensitive” checkbox, but to the remaining plugin settings.

Thus, please share with me the screenshots of the current settings for:

  • Plugin element;
  • Repeating group;
  • Input;
  • DataBase settings for searching data type.

Looking to hearing from you soon.
Best regards,

Hi Ecaterina,

here are the screenshots of the settings!

thanks for the help!

the search works if the name of the organization is typed in with the proper case sensitivity, only issue is that all ‘Name’ begin with a capital letter, whereas search input is going to begin with lowercase

Hello, @raasil
Thanks for the screenshots.

Please change the Threshold from 0.1 to 1.0, since now, the plugin requires the perfect match.

I hope that this will help you.
Best regards,

Hi Ecaterina,

It still doesn’t show up unless it’s a perfect match with case sensitivity, i want it to search for the match without case sensitivity. I.e Searching for organization name “QPropel” should be showing up if the input says qpropel .

Thanks!

Hello, @raasil
