Fuzzy Search & Autocomplete won't get Input Box in Random cases

Hi,

I’ve got a curious case of the Fuzzy autocomplete not getting the input box value.

I can’t reproduce it on demand, in some place it works and other it wont. Sometime it will work for a bit then not at all.

It’s so random there is now way to reproduce it on demand.

What are the know reasons for this and how to avoid them?

Hello, @philippe
Thanks for using our plugin.

The random result appearing could be reproduced by some factors, especially:

  • Conditions and filters for the Data Source of the Repeating Group;
  • The data type of the entries, which you are trying to get within your Repeating Group.

In order to provide you with a specific solution and fix the plugin behavior, we need to check your settings.
Please share with us the screenshots for:

  • Input settings;
  • Plugin element settings;
  • Repeating Group settings.

Looking to hearing from you soon.
Best regards,

the search element is not receiving the data form the input box at all as you can see on my screenshot so this can’t be on the repeating group level.

This is also independant from my settings as sometime it works and sometime not, with the exact same settings (including copy paste of elements).

It seems that elements on a group that is made visible later is working while if in a group that is visible by default it is not…

Maybe something is loading too fast for the plugin?

Hello, @philippe
Thanks for the additional details.

In case the Input is not receiving any data, it means that settings are incorrect.
Allow me to point repeatedly that random result appearing could be reproduced by some factors, especially:

  • Conditions and filters for the Data Source of the Repeating Group\Plugin element;
  • The data type of the entries, which you are trying to get within your Repeating Group.

If you can’t share the screenshots in the public thread (for privacy purposes), you can easily share them with me in the DM or by email (ecaterina.cheptini@zeroqode.com).

I’m afraid that without a complete analysis of your settings - it is impossible to tell the exact cause of the problem.
Anyway, you can analyze the documentation for the plugin following this link:

Looking to hearing from you soon.
Best regards,

that would be awesome if that was true, unfortunately it is not true, as stated before

I created a page to demonstrate the issue specifically and sent it alongside a screensharing video (by email)

Hello, @philippe
Thanks for the reply.

Can you please send this email to ecaterina.cheptini@zeroqode.com again?
Probably I missed this one :pray:

It will help me to investigate your app immediately and revert to a solution.

Best regards,

Hello, @philippe

I found your application and started the investigation.
As I can see, the Data Source for the plugin is Action Items, where is set filter ( Current User’s Business).

It means that in case of absence data about the business of the Current User ( who is logged in to your application), the input and RG data will be blank.

In case we run your app with the user, who is in charge of any business and have any created actions there, the plugin works properly.
However, in case this information is absent, the RG will not display any results.

During my investigation, I was not able to reproduce the case with the blank result in the case of filling in information about the business of any user.

Please note that with your current filters, the plugin performs properly. In case you faced incorrect behavior of the plugin for the users, who added all required information (like business, actions, etc.) let me know.

Hope my answer was helpful for you.
Best regards,

This is not the right page, please look at the debug page and the screencast I’ve sent :wink:

Hello, @philippe
Your email was redirected to my colleague firstly, so I was not able to see the video.

Allow me to investigate the provided page and revert with feedback ASAP.

Best regards,

Hello, @philippe

We finished an investigation of your application and found the reason for the random plugin’s performance.
On the “Bug-Autocorrect” page, which was provided in your email, we found out that you have 2 identical Inputs with the same ID:

Unfortunately, the plugin couldn’t work with the 2 identical inputs.

When the page is initialized, it is determined where the information will come to the plugin by ID.
At the moment, it is determined by the first input which is on the page.
The second input is not taken into account.

Exactly this construction causes the plugin to work incorrectly.

Please make the required changes and let me know about the result.
Best regards,

This is just the result of me duplicating the bug on this debug-purpose page.

The issue was there before I did this debug page.

I just renamed one of the inputs (and updated the autocorrect element) and the issue is still there.

That’s a lot of back and forth to finally tell me I was right. I was explicit from the very first email. I still don’t have a solution.

Hello, @philippe

Can you please let me know if you have received my last email, which was sent Today?

As we have mentioned earlier, your settings are correct and the plugin works properly only when all Data Is Loaded on the page. Also, the plugin works properly on other pages and versions.

This problem is most likely due to regular updates in the Bubble Editor, which may be affecting the pulling of information from the database. However, please find the screencast, where you can see that the application is working properly.

I would like to recommend you reach the Bubble Support Team ( you can even forward them this thread) and ask for an investigation from their side.

Can you please let us know if you already reached their Support Team?
