Google Calendar Plugin: Google Meet Integration?

Hello,

On my app I would like to be able to integrate Google Meet for my users to video/audio conference with one another, using my company’s Gsuite Account, which allows guest participants on Google Meet.

I already checked with Google and there is no API for Google Meet yet (but it’s on their pipeline).

However, they suggested that I could go through the GSuite Calendar API, which creates a Google Meet URL.

I see Zeroqode has a Google Calendar plugin. Can it schedule meetings with guests and will a Google Meet session be scheduled as well?

Hi @atentesyma, thanks for reaching out.

The current functionality of the “Google Calendar + Offline” is allowing only to schedule calendar events with attendees, without scheduling Google Meet session.

We will check how feasible it will be to add the requested feature to the future plugin update.

The list of all actions that this plugin can execute, you may find here https://docs.zeroqode.com/plugins/google-calendar-+-offline-plugin#action-calls, or on the Editor page, “Plugins” compartment, by choosing a relevant plugin.

However, I would recommend you to check the possibility to make API calls through API Connector, which will allow you to add the scheduled session link to the Google Calendar event.

I’m interested in adding a Google Meet link to my user’s calendar events as well.

@Serg or @atentesyma Do either of you know has anything changed on the Google end to allow for this directly?

Seems that the Google platform itself is allowing to add video and phone conferences to calendar events: Create Events  |  Calendar API  |  Google Developers

The Zeroqode Developer team will check how feasible would be to add such a feature in future plugin updates.

sounds good. FYI it appears Google adds a Google Meet directly once a guest is added to the calendar creation. Just an fyi. Add Google Meet video meetings to Calendar events - YouTube

It would still be useful to have Google Meets/Hangouts added when a User (ie teacher) initially creates many booking slots. Let me know what you find out.
