Google Maps Extender: Heading value missing

Hi

We are testing the Google Maps Extender, and cant seem to find the Heading state on the plugin element. We can see that an event listener can be attached:

How do we access the heading?

Also, is there a chance you can add Speed to the list of variables and events that can be attached?

Hello @siticum,

Great to have you back! :hugs:

Regarding your query, I’d like to understand better what you’re aiming to achieve. Could you please provide more specifics, particularly about the which action you’re using and the exact result you’re looking to achieve? Additionally, you mentioned a ‘heading state,’ but the “Map extender” element doesn’t have such a state[image]. Could you clarify what you mean by ‘heading’ and your intended outcome?

Sharing additional details, such as screenshots or screencasts, would greatly help us grasp your situation and provide a more precise response.

Thank you for your cooperation. I’m looking forward to your response.

Best regards,
Stefan

Hi Stephan

Likewise… I will be sticking around  - Hopefully ending in you being able to use our quite ambitious project as a case if you want.

So, we want to access user heading. Leafy maps and MapBox have them expose as states. We need it for prioritising stories ahead of the user in the app also providing directions in the speak. See www.storypilot.io and try the iPhone app there.

We need:

  1. Updating heading in state on element
  2. Attaching an event listener to trigger an action

I can see the extender plugin already have an option to attach a listener. See screenshot. But the state is missing, and many some dev time.

We would really like this to be incorporated into the Plugin. The extender is our best option atm.

By heading I mean, the USER HEADING. Typically active after waling a 10-20 meters thought the API.

Hello @siticum,

Thank you for sharing your app with us.

Upon reviewing it, I noticed you were referring to a different plugin that shares a similar name with our “Google Maps Extender”. As depicted in the image below, this plugin is not a part of Zeroqode’s offerings:

Could you please verify this in your app and confirm? Also, if you have any questions about other Zeroqode products, feel free to reach out.

Thank you, and I look forward to your response.

Best regards,
Stefan

Sorry. Embarrassing. You are right. Almost same name. We are experimenting with the other extender and leafy maps atm. Disregard the message.

Hello @siticum,

Thank you for the message.

Everything is fine, the plugin names are indeed very similar. Based on one of your suggestions, we’ve decided to add a “Marker Size” field to the actions: “Add a Marker,” “Add List of Markers,” and “Custom Marker” in our Google Maps Extender plugin. And if you choose to try it, we’re eager to explore other ideas you might want implemented. :hugs:

Thank you once again. If you have any further questions about our plugins, please don’t hesitate to let us know.

Wishing you a wonderful day ahead! :star2:

Best regards,
Stefan
