How to update thing with Advanced Custom Dropdown

Hi there,

I’ve been trying to work this out, but I’m stumped.
I need to update a thing’s status which is populated via an option set using the advanced custom dropdown plugin.

The issue I have is that the data in the dropdown is formatted as a text string and the status I need to update is a thing.

I know there is a workflow function On value change how ever I can’t figure out how to get it working.
I’ve looked at your demo, however there is no examples of this.

Can anyone help?
