Mapbox Map Plugin and Displaying JEOJson in repeating group

I’m using the Mapbox plugin elsewhere in my app with good effect, the ability to put a GEOJson onto the map with a workflow is nice and simple.

I’m now trying to put a small Mapbox map into a repeating group and when a user enters a postcode or similar outside of the repeating group, the search then returns the list of groups within the repeating group and a small map is displayed that contains the geojson for the group, the user can then zoom in/out to see just how close their point of interest is to the map geojson.

I can’t see how to populate the Mapbox map while it’s in the repeating group with the current cells GEOJson data.

is this possible and if so how?

It’s great to hear that the plugin is proving useful and that you’re enjoying it. Regarding your query about using Mapbox Maps in RG, I’ve set up a test page zeroqode-demo-08 | Bubble Editor where you can see how to use specific actions with a Mapbox element situated in RG. There are three buttons that perform different actions only for the Mapbox element in the cell.

Could you please try it out and let us know if it is what you are looking for? If not, could you please provide more details about how you envision this working?

Apologies for the delay, I’ve been doing some other (related activity)…

I’ve just tried the plugin with the new version and a known good polygon shape (That works using the old methodology). and the marker is not being recognised as being inside of the shape(s). the drawn shape on the screen is using the GEOJson field in the database and I’ve reconfigured the geofence element to also look into that field for the GEOJson with no luck. I then took the contents of that cell in the database and pasted it directly into the element field, again with no luck in being able to recognise the point inside the drawn shape( from the same field)

I’ve pasted the GEOJson that you can test with if you like…

Happy to do some troubleshooting if needs…

If you are referring to the polygon created using Mapbox, you can indeed set the color of the polygon in the “properties” section by using “color”: “#FF0000”, for example.

Thank for the questions.

I’ve looked into your request. The color field is designed to be used with Type lines or polygons where you just put coordinates and the rest you set from the element. However, the multipolygon feature is structured to accept and work dirrectly with JSON data, using the fields from the JSON to set all properties, including color.

Nonetheless, you can still incorporate dynamic data within the JSON, should you wish to use a random color(image).

The server where the image was stored is no longer operational, but I can help you set a random color. You can use a plugin that generates random colors; in my case, I used the Random Color Generator.

Add the plugin element to your page, and in the geoJSON, where you set the “color” property, use the plugin element state “list of colors” + “item#”. This way, each item will have a random color.

it’s worked a treat for the GEOjson files that we have. (which are 1000’s of them)
