MapBox plugin: Changing map style resets position, bearing and stops location tracking

Hi

When setting a new map style, the position, bearing, location tracking etc is reset.

This is a bit unfortunate when the user have been panning and focusing in on a selected location.

Any chance you can add a tickbox to the Set Map Style action that toggles the reset?

Hi @siticum

We’ve passed along your request to our development team for their consideration. Kindly bear with us while they assess the feasibility of implementing this feature. We’ll be sure to reach out to you as soon as we have more information.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, and we wish you a fantastic day ahead :hugs:

Hello @siticum,

Thank you for your patience.

Currently, preserving map data such as markers, routes, and clusters while changing the map’s style isn’t feasible. However, we’ve taken note of your suggestion, and should this feature become viable in the future, we’ll certainly update you!

Have a fantastic day ahead! :hugs:

Okay. I guess a new fly to action and location tracking can do the trick.

However, (new feature request), I cant define the speed of the fly to action. Any chance you can add this?

Hi @siticum

Absolutely, you can accomplish your goal by using the new “Fly to” action, along with creating additional states and tweaking the settings to fine-tune the behavior.

However, when you mention that you “can’t define the speed of the ‘Fly to’ action,” could you provide more details or clarify what specific speed control you’re looking for?

Cheers :hugs:

The speed it takes to do the Camera movement.

Panning, zooming etc. when I start location tracking.

Know that I think about it, it’s not the fly to cation, but the start location tracking workflow.
Controlling that would be nice, but not a must for us.

Hello @siticum,

For a quicker map transition, you can adjust the “Fly Speed” setting within the action. By inputting “100” in this field, it will maximize the speed, similar to adjusting the “Zoom Speed”. This should assist in achieving the desired effect for your use case.

Wishing you a productive day! :hugs:
