Multi-uploader image quality

Hey Hope you are well well, i just have a simple question regarding the image quality value on the multi uploader, adjusting this value greatly varies the size of the image (seems exponential not linear)
My question is there simply a value or something where i can get the exact same sized image as the image being uploaded?

Example: Source image 8.5mb in size, below is an image showing difference image quality and the effect on size. (example this one i can get pretty close to the original size at an image quality of 99, but if i upload a different image at a different size the size won’t be close)

So id like to upload images and keep them exactly the same size :slight_smile: if possible, otherwise its increases overall data usage by quite a lot, (or since exponential, i can decrease image quality a little bit (like 15point) and save a lot of space and sacrifice image quality)

Hello, @haydos99. Please accept my apologies for the late reply.

Let us please check your request carefully with the dev team. I will get back to you once I have any useful information.

Regards,

@haydos99, thank you very much for your patience!

We have checked the “Image Quality” field and here is some info on how does it work:

  • when you set there 100, the image’s size is increasing;
  • when you set there 0, the image’s size is decreasing;
  • when you leave that field empty, the plugin will use the default browser’s image quality coefficient (94).

This parameter, Image Quality, is a multi-uploader’s library feature that can’t be changed by the plugin. Here I mean, a plugin is using the service’s libraries for work, so we can’t influent on that feature, unfortunately.

I hope this info will be helpful.
Take care. :slightly_smiling_face:

thank you for reply, so overall 94 should keep overall size similar?

@haydos99,

Yup, it should be as a default image’s size. But this number depends on the browser.

Have a good weekend!
