NFC Scanner Plugin reads the tag but shows the info in another window

Hello everyone! I hope you can help me with my problem. I’m using the NFC Scanner plugin for my bubble app and i’m facing a problem.

I open the website that I created with my android phone and I use google Chrome webbrowser (just like the plugin says: Currently supported only on Chrome for Android). The plugin works, he reads the NFC tag but insted of showing the information that he just collected on the same page, he just shows it on new window using the NFC-service app.

Do you know how to fix this problem? NFC is already activated on my phone and on the site settings it is also activated (NFC devices = yes, ask before …)

Thanks in advance!

Hello @gsger ,

Thank you for reaching out to us!

Regarding your inquiry, could you please provide more details about your use case? Specifically, can you clarify what you meant by: “Instead of displaying the information just collected on the same page, it is shown in a new window using the NFC-service app.”?

If possible, sharing a screencast of how you’ve set up the plugin in your app and the problem you’re experiencing would be very helpful.

Additionally, the plugin element NFC includes states such as “Scanned data” and “Tag serial number.” Have you tried using these options? If so, what results are you getting?

Hi Stephan, thanks for reaching out!

This is the page that the users sees after logging in.

The next step is that the users needs to scan an NFC tag to continue. When he does, a pop-up will show the scanned data.
At this point is where the problems starts. On my phone he works just fine.
So I have 2 options:

  1. When it works, you get the pop-up with all the information that you need to continue.

This is the information he is looking for:

2) When it doesn’t work. You will get this …

Like you see on the picture. It doesn’t open the pop-up. I just opens like a new empty URL page or something, but still showing all the data. So, he reads the NFC and get all the information that I need but it doesn’t do it on the right page.
I already tried to use the app with another phones but I always get this result. It only works in my phone but I found out that if I try from my phone using an incognito window, it also doesn’t work anymore.

Where is the problem? When I started doing this it also didn’t work on my phone at all. I’ve found online some tips to activate the NFC tag and after trying a lot, it suddenly stared working on my phone. But I did the same in another phones and still not working.

Any tips? Do you need more information?
Thanks in advance!

Hello @gsger,

Thank you for reaching out.

From your description, I understand that instead of displaying the pop-up, the app is opening a new web page (as shown in your previous message). That does sound unusual, as the plugin shouldn’t be prompting any page openings—it should simply read the NFC tags and trigger the event when scanned.

To help us understand what you are experiencing and identify the cause, could you please add our Support Team as collaborators on your application and share the link with us? This way, we can review your settings and replicate the concern on our end.

To add our Support Team as a collaborator in the Bubble Editor, please navigate to: Settings > Collaboration > Add email support@zeroqode.com.

Additionally, please share:

  • Instructions on how to reproduce the issue (page name, workflow details, and where to click).
  • Any test user credentials needed for logging in.
  • A short Loom video or screencast would also be very helpful if possible.

Thank you for your cooperation. I look forward to your reply!

Good morning Stefan,

Thanks for answering so fast! You understood correctly what I meant.

I have a some questions about your request.
To start … How much will I have to pay for your team to check my app?

Is it possible NOT to share the DATA? Because there’s is personal information about people and I don’t want anyone to access it. I would like to set Data to “No permission”. And if I do this, hopefully you still will have access to the pages and workflows, right? I could create a new user and send its username and password so you could log in to the app and start scanning NFC tags.

You also would need to use at least one NFC tag to test the app. You should write on it this example: 5,469,Corno

The NFC reader expects three parameters separated by a comma. The first two should be numbers and the last one a text (like the example above).

Please, let me know if this is possible.

Thanks!!

Hello @gsger,

Thank you for your reply.

We simply wanted to understand the behavior you’re experiencing, which is why seeing the application will help us assess everything more quickly as the step-by-step debugger will be particularly useful in this case. No data is needed in the data you can indeed set it to “No permission” so it won’t be visible, just test credentials and the steps to reproduce the issue.

Also, there’s no need to make a payment here as we need understand what’s exactly is happening. Only if you will want any development or improvements, you can then choose one of our packages further.

Thanks again, and I look forward to your reply.

Good morning Stephan,

I understand. Here you have the instructions:
First you will need to log in using test@hotmail.com as email and 123456 as password.

After that you will be sent to the page called “kas”.

At this page, the only thing you can do is scan an NFC tag.
Once you do this, It should open in the same page the pop up PadScanned (like you saw in the previous message).

The important workflows for the NFC plugin in are these:

If you have any questions … just let me know.
Thanks!

Hello @gsger,

Thank you for your message and for sharing the steps.

I followed the steps you provided and was able to reproduce the behavior you reported in the app, where a blank webpage opens upon scanning a NFC tag. I have forwarded all the details to the development team for further investigation, and I will get back to you as soon as I have any new information.

Thank you again for your cooperation. In the meantime, if you have any other questions, please let me know.

Have a great day ahead!
