PDF Conjurer - Custom size?

I need to export a repeatinggroup with each cell being a separate page of the pdf. Size of each page should have the same dimensions as the cell, but 2.7x as big.

Haven’t found a way to do it yet.

A possible way would be to export the groups as images and add the images to pdf pages, but for that the PDF Conjurer plugin doesn’t support square pages (with variable sizes).

Any idea how to make this happen? Thanks so much in advance 🫡

Hello @musicbybargo,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Regarding your question, I understand that you would like to export the repeating group content with the PDF Conjurer. For this, you can either use “Create Table” action and input all the RG details there. Before that, you can create a new style using “Define New Style” to set the text styling and use it in the “Create Table” action. Alternatively, you can opt for the Advanced Table functionality and set each column there.

Nonetheless, for your use case, if you want to print a repeating group, you can also opt for other PDF generator plugins that can print a group or page as it appears on the page itself. This way, you will only need to format it in your app, and in the PDF it will look exactly as envisioned without additional workflow.

You can consider plugins such as Page to PDF Converter, Group to PDF and Image, or others that will best fit your requirements.

Thanks again, and I look forward to your reply.

Best regards,
Stefan

Thanks for the response, I’ve tried the Group to PDF and Image too, but this has the same issue with fixes dimensions of the page (at least no option to fit the group’s dimensions). So this doesn’t work for us.

The result should be a PDF with 10801080px slides (ideally also having the option to generate 10801350px)

Hello @musicbybargo ,

Thank you for your message and the update.

For your use case, the Page to PDF converter would be a more suitable solution, as it allows you to set up a custom format for the generated PDF where you can include any values you need. Please note that in PDF generator plugins, the group will be printed with the same height and width values as they are on the page, so you should edit its dimensions on the page as well.

If you’d like to give the Page to PDF plugin a try, please consider subscribing and testing it out—you’ll incur charges only for the days you use it ($9/31 ≈ $0.30 per day). This way, you can make sure it fully meets your needs. You can also check the demo page editor to see an example of how to set it up.

I hope this proves helpful to you. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks, and I look forward to your reply.

Thanks, but can this create 1 pdf file with multiple pages? Or just a single page PDF file?

Hello @musicbybargo,

Thanks for your question.

Yes, definitely you can print a PDF with multiple pages using the Page to PDF converter plugin. There, you can also find different tools for using multiple pages, such as “Page Break Avoid Inside”—which will ensure that an element won’t be cut off and will remain on one page—or “Pagebreak ID” if you want to specify exactly which elements to print on separate pages. Also, you have the possibility to set headers and footers with HTML.

I hope this information proves helpful. Please let us know if you have any further questions or need further assistance.

Thanks again, and I wish you a great day ahead!

Unfortunately, the emoji’s (such as :point_right: in this case) aren’t coming through properly.

Also need to figure out how to upscale the group to fit the page. Apart from that it seems to work.

Hello @musicbybargo,

Thank you for your message.

After reviewing your observation, I also noticed that emojis appear differently in the printed PDF. It seems the emoji font isn’t being found, causing the server to use a default font instead.

I have forwarded this observation to our development team for further investigation and will update you with more information as it becomes available.

In the meantime, if you have any other questions or encounter any difficulties, please let me know.

Best regards,
Stefan

Hello @musicbybargo ,

I hope you’re doing well.

I’m writing to share our findings regarding the concern you reported about using emojis in the PDF. The difference occurs because emojis can have different fonts, and when printing, the default font is used, causing them to appear differently.

We have attempted various workarounds to enable the other fonts in the conversion process, but each time they caused other problems, such as making the text unreadable.

Unfortunately, the emojis won’t appear the same in the PDF.

Thank you for your understanding. If you have any other questions, please let me know.
