PDF converter return error 500

Hello,

I am trying to generate a PDF but the error returned from the console is 500. I am unsure how to troubleshoot further. I have the draggable elements plugin installed but so maybe this is why.

Is there any way I can look at the PDF generation log to see what causes this error ?

Thanks in advance

Hello @William ,
Thanks for reaching out.

In order to help you with this issue, can you please provide more details on when exactly you are getting this error? Also, I would like to ask you to provide us with the details of your setup (screenshots, video recordings) so that we can investigate the issue and try to replicate your use case.

Looking forward to your reply. :pray:t2:

I get this error in the console when the action

Generate pdf from html server side ConvertertoPDFv2.0

is ran. It is executed when a button is clicked.

Here is this action’s setup.

Thank you for the screenshot. :pray:t2: @William

There is currently an issue on our end that affects full-page conversions and our developer team is working on this issue. I will get back to you with an update as soon as possible.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. In the meantime, please let me know if you need any additional information.

Best,

I am not doing a full-page conversion so it should still work. Is there any way I can troubleshoot it myself? Can I look at which part does the conversion fail?

Hello @William,

As I can see from the screenshot you’ve provided, the covert target field is Current Page. What causes misunderstanding is that if we are converting the whole page then we need to use the current page target. So, we recommend using the “Single element” target, to convert specific pieces of the page content to PDF.

Still, it would help us a lot if you could share a video recording of your whole setup to let us understand the content of the page you are going to convert using our plugin. This will decrease misunderstanding possibility.

We are willing to help you with the issue you have and we will do our best for this, in cooperation with you.

As for troubleshooting, you can check our demo setup for single elements and compare it with your own setup as this issue is reproduced on our end for full-page conversion only. Here is our editor: zeroqode-demo-01 | Bubble Editor

Hope to hear from you soon.

Hello,

After deleting a few elements on the group I wanted to convert, I found the culprit it was the text inside a draggable element. If the draggable element is set to column layout, it fails. But if it is in fixed mode, it prints.

I might have found bug in which case the export fails, it is linked to the previous error.

I have a repeating group that has its content overlapping by choosing a number of rows higher than the group can fit. In this case, the export fails, even with only 1 element.

I have still managed to export the group by having it default number of rows low and then changing it to a higher number with an option set linked to a button.

The contrary however doesn’t work, If the default number of rows is too high, it will fail even if we change it afterward.

To sumarize :

20 rows : Fail
7 rows : Success
7 rows  -> 20 rows : Success
20 rows -> 7 rows  : Fail

The arrow meaning for the 3rd case:

Hello @William,
Thanks for the details!

In order to speed up the process of investigation and help you, can you please add our Support Team email to the list of collaborators to your application and provide me a link to your application? This will allow us to check your settings and run some tests to fix the mentioned problem.

To add our Support Team as a collaborator, you need to do the following steps in the Bubble Editor: Settings > Collaboration > Add email support@zeroqode.com

Note: avoid the warning message regarding the plan, as we are an agency and you can easily add us to your collaborators.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Hello @William,
Thank you for your patience. :pray:t2:

We’ve fixed the issue and you can now convert the content of your page successfully even if your repeating group has 20 rows by default. Please try it on your page and let us know how it’s going.

Looking forward to your reply.

Hi @khaanekii,
Thanks for reaching out.

Yes, it’s also an option. However, we’ve fixed this issue, and now even if we have a higher number of rows by default, the plugin will convert the group properly.

Have a nice day. :pray:t2:
