PDF Convertor new user issue

Hi! Firstly, wonderful work on your amazing plugins. I just purchased your PDF convertor after being very impressed by the live demo. Most PDF converters just create one large image but your one seems to make small high quality ‘proper’ PDF files with vectors & selectable text etc! Awesome!

If I use the “Convert PDF ConvertortoPDFv2.0 A” element workflow, it runs ok - but the resulting PDF is just one image and it’s not so good (sorry).

So I tried the “Generate pdf from html server side ConvertortoPDFv2.0 A”. element workflow instead…

…but that does nothing at all. No download. No File Selector. Nothing. :frowning:

I would appreciate your help to get this working.

Here is image of workflow:

I’ve tried a few variations on this too.

Thank you

Hello, @daleaskew!
Thank you for your kind feedback on our plugin and please accept my sincere apologies for such a delay with the reply

From your setup screenshot I see that your padding values are empty - please fill in there a 0 value instead (if you need no padding on your resulting PDF page). It should help.

Please try and let me know if it helped.
Have a good weekend! :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi Kate. It’s ok about the delay I notice you guys get asked a lot of questions!

Your suggestion didn’t work INITIALLY. Then I tried running it with the debugger on - and it worked (it actually then downloaded ALL my previous attempts, so multiple files arrived in one go). After I turned the debugger off, it now behaves as expected! So thank you. But I would check as there is some small bug lurking somewhere, possibly browser related (I’m using brave on mac).

So it’s working but there is a couple of issues.

  1. The PDF is positioned wrong. Please see the result here. I have also included the non server version for comparison, and the original screen shot from bubble. Zerocode PDF - pCloud

  2. The ‘save pdf’ button was placed in a popup group but it rendered the page under it. I had to switch to a specific element ID to get it to render the correct part. The non server version did not require this.

  3. On the exported PDF some of the boxes are not rendered correctly, and some boxes are coloured incorrectly (they should be transparent), and boxes in a repeating group are different sizes (they should all be the same).

Finally, what is the best way to tell the user that it’s “working”? On your demo page you use a nice spinner, which is fine, but what workflow actions to I need to detect whether or not the PDF has finished rendering in background? (because else they will spam the button thinking it’s not working)

I hope you can help fix these things, then it will be perfect !
Many thanks

Just a small update…

When I just looked at the “corrupt” Pdf on my phone viewer, it looks much better… SOME of the issues, such as the wrong colours, and wrong box sizes, look correct.

In my macbook, they are displaying incorrectly.

Strange.
Hope u can iron these kinks out.

Anybody ?

Thank you

@daleaskew,

I’m super sorry for the delay with the reply.
To reduce the time, will it be convenient for you to add our support@zeroqode.com as a collaborator of your app? I’ll take a look at your setup and perform a few tests to make the plugin work.

Just please indicate the page where you have used the plugin, steps to reproduce the convert to PDF action and grant the edit rights.

Regards,

Thank you I will do that.

@daleaskew,

Thanks for the access to your app!
I have emailed you the details of your issue and here I’ll leave only the main reason for the bad quality of your second PDF doc you were generating on your page:
you used the old plugin action that returns the page/element screenshot in PDF format.

I will be glad to provide some more help if you need it.
Cheers! :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi Kate. Unfortunately that was not the issue… those buttons were just there for testing & comparison purposes, one button which downloads the HQ (new) version, and one button that downloads the previous old version. Once working correctly i’ll be removing those buttons completely.

The issue is that the downloaded HQ version is corrupt.

I appreciate you trying and I will respond further to your email. Maybe do not reply back here until we’ve fully resolved the issue properly.

Hi, absolutely love this plugin. I’m getting amazing results for printing charts and tables.

One issue I am having is that some of the pdf’s are generated twice - one is the correct size and orientation, but one is much smaller. Any thoughts why 2 pdf’s are generated?

Thanks!
