QR Code - General Help

New here, just installed QR Bar Code Reader Plugin and have a few question:

  • I associated some text components to the output (code and format) from the reader component, but hovering over a bar code doesn’t display anything in the fields. Maybe the reader isn’t successfully reading, or maybe I’m missing something?

  • Is there or can there be an indication when the reader has recognized a code in the preview?

  • Is there any documentation on the Zoom, Contract, and Brightness options? I mean, I can figure it out myself, but just surprised I don’t see anything anywhere on that. Speaking of, should the “show documentation” link in the component do something? Currently it just shows the associated title, so I’m assuming its a placeholder?

Thanks!

@andrew.fox Hello.

Looked through the questions, we’ll check the issues you’ve encountered. But would be a good idea, for you to offer the workflow and settings details and post the screenshots or video.
Regarding the documentation for this plugin, at the moment there’s none but we are working on updating our products with as much information regarding them. It may take some time though.

Right now please look at our demo page - https://zeroqode-demo-07.bubbleapps.io/qr-bar_code_reader ; and see how it is set and works.

Thanks for understanding
Zeroqode Team.

@Dumitru Sorry for the delay. Here is the app example (https://adac-v1.bubbleapps.io/version-test?debug_mode=true) and the edit page (https://bubble.is/page?name=index&id=adac-v1&tab=tabs-1). Any direction would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Hi andrew.
Tried your test app, while hovering some bar codes and QR code and I’m getting the result output in those fields (code and format).

I’m not sure, why you aren’t getting the result. Have you tried different test devices or browsers. Also see the position of the marker so it would hover the whole code.
Hope this helps.

Can confirm it works now. Odd, I tried for so long before and it wouldn’t scan, but now it seems to. I was testing on an iphone 6S, just FYI. Thanks!

Oooh, right almost forgot.

I also updated to the latest version of plugin in your test app, since we pushed an update for Iphone devices which wouldn’t produce a sound in safari and some minor tweeks. Sorry didn’t mentioned early.

Glad it helped.

Do i need to do anything in Bubble to update the component going forward when future updates are released? Or does it update automatically?

If an update is released for the plugin, you’ll need to update to the latest version of it manually from plugins tab.
