Rich text doesnt work w drag-and-drop

VIDEO: https://www.loom.com/share/f54e113f00bd40a6bc2ff9fb5539b9d1

I’ve created a kanban board style editing tool, where I want to be able to edit each chapter and move it around.

Using a simple text box, it works fine (left one in the video) but with the Zeroqode Rich Text Editor, I can’t edit the text (right one in video) because the chapter gets dragged.

Any solution?

Hi @jenslennartsson,

Thanks for reaching out. Perhaps the read only checkbox is turned on:

Could you please check this one? Because if you set the Read Only mode, you will not be able to type in.

Best,
Alex

It is not. It works great if i put it OUTSIDE of the droppable object.
I can also rightclick on the text to mark one word, then use the arrow buttons to navigate (see video).

But I cant left click and edit.

Oh @jenslennartsson, thanks for this one as well.

Could you please share a bit more details about your app setups and workflows? Perhaps we can replicate on our side to see where the problem might be.

There is a change that the plugin is not compatible with the draggable plugin. What tool are you using for drag-n-drop?

Best,
Alex

Hey Alexander!

I’m using the plugin called “Draggable Elements” https://manual.bubble.io/core-resources/bubble-made-plugins/draggable-ui-elements

I’ve put the Rich Text Box, into a Draggable element, onto a Dropzone.

If you need more, Im happy to record a Loom video?

Hi @jenslennartsson,

Yes, a loom video would be perfect! Could you please show how exactly you implemented in on your side, so we can replicate all the setups on our side as well

Best,
Alex

Here you go!

Hi @jenslennartsson,

Thanks for it! Let us investigate then get back to you with working solutions asap!

Best,
Alex

Hi @jenslennartsson,

Yes, we can replicate this behaviour on our side too. Unfortunately, the Bubble’s native RTE isn’t working properly either. We’ll analyse this use case if this is something we can fix, because if the Bubble’s element is not working natively with the Bubble’s drag-n-drop, perhaps there might be little we can do about our plugin. But, let us investigate further with our development team, then get back to you asap.

Best,
Alex

Hi @jenslennartsson,

Unfortunately, it is not possible to fix this at the moment. This actually implies a conflict between 2 different plugins, which we are not able to influence on.

Even Bubble’s native RTE plugin behaves the same way, which means it is not possible to use them together, unfortunately.

However, we’ll add this use case to our roadmap improvement and see how feasible it is to try to fix in the future.

Thanks for understanding.

Best,
Alex
