Running Convert to PDF Plug-in on a backend workflow

Is there a way to use this plugin on a backend workflow? I want to generate PDF statements I can e-mail to customers on a daily basis. But without having a web page to reference, I’m not sure if this is possible. Thanks for any help!

Hi @1UPDental ,

Thanks for reaching out and for your interest in using the Bubble Page to PDF Converter - happy to clarify how this works.

At the moment, the plugin can’t be used directly in a backend workflow.
It relies on rendering a Bubble page in the browser and converting that visual layout into a PDF, which isn’t available in backend workflows since they don’t have access to the page/UI layer.
Because of this, a page reference is required for the PDF generation to work properly.

That said, a common and recommended approach is to create a dedicated (hidden) page in your app that acts as a PDF template. You can dynamically load the needed data into that page, generate the PDF from a regular workflow, save it to the database, and then email it to your customers.

Could you please let us know if this page-based approach would work for your use case, or if you’re aiming for single or bulk PDF generation? With a bit more detail, we’ll be glad to suggest the best setup.

Thanks again for your message, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any other questions - we’re happy to help!
