Your online Smarty Address Lookup API Demo doesn’t work due to Smarty API license being expired. Please Fix this
Hello @rcrum ,
Thank you for contacting us and sorry for long wait due to the weekend.
I checked the Smarty Address Autocomplete Plugin for Bubble, and yes, I can confirm that there are issues with the demo pages.
Our team is already working on resolving the issue. As soon as I hear back from the developer, I will be sure to let you know.
Thank you for your understanding, and have a nice day.
Best Regards,
Anton
Hey @rcrum,
Thank you for your patience.
I’m excited to share that we have effectively resolved the issue with the Smarty Address Autocomplete action.
In this update, we also fixed an issue on our demo page, and now you can easily test the plugin.
Your patience and cooperation throughout this process have been greatly appreciated.
Have a nice day and good luck with your project
Best Regards,
Anton
Thanks! But if this is a demo of your plugin, why should I have to supply an API key? Doesn’t seem like much of a demo!
Hey @rcrum ,
Thank you for your reply.
I understand that having to provide your own API key might seem counterintuitive for a demo. However, since the Smarty Address Autocomplete plugin relies on a third-party service (Smarty), the usage of their API requires individual authentication through an API key even for testing purposes.
To ensure stability and compliance with their usage policy, we’ve configured the demo to let users test the plugin with their own keys. This approach helps guarantee that everyone can experience the plugin’s full functionality without interruptions or shared quota limits, which can happen with a public key.
Thank you for understanding.
Best Regards,
Anton
Anton,
I do understand your rationale, but I do not believe for a second that Smarty precludes zerocode from purchasing an API key for demo purposes. Perhaps your revenue from the plugin doesn’t justify the cost of the API key, but please don’t blame Smarty for this.
I use many plugins with Bubble, and other tools, and have NEVER been asked to provide an API key in order to try out a plugin via a demo page.
Hey @rcrum,
Sorry for the long wait due to the weekend.
You’re absolutely right that other tools sometimes include demo access without requiring a key, and we totally understand how this might feel inconvenient.
That said, the good news is that you can test the Smarty Address Autocomplete plugin completely for free - no payment required. Smarty offers a free trial plan with API key access, and you can quickly generate your own key by visiting their official site here:
https://www.smarty.com/
This allows you to try the full functionality of the plugin on our demo page without any limitations or shared usage quotas.
We chose this route primarily to ensure a stable and realistic testing experience for each user especially since a shared key can hit rate limits quickly or get disabled due to abuse, which we want to avoid for your convenience.
Best Regards,
Anton
