Tooltips plugin: Can we have a close on mouseleave OR click?

Hi there,
I started using your Tooltips plugin after others weren’t good enough.
I have it working, but I’ve found that the options for closing the tooltip aren’t sufficient and am hoping you can add another option.

It’s common for my use case to click on an icon to open/close a page element, and it would be awesome if the Tooltip could disappear if you mouseleave OR click. Currently I can only use mouseleave, but it’s a little annoying to look at when it stays there after the user has clicked on it (and I can’t have click only as it still needs to disappear when you mouse away).

The other plugin I was using has this functionality, but yours is better so I’m hoping you could update it with this.

There are a few options to hide the tooltip:

  • mouse leave - when the mouse leaves the element area
  • click - that allows closing the tooltip when clicking on it
  • close - there is an additional close icon for the tooltip

Hope it helps. In case the issue will persist, please let me know and share a screencast or screenshots with the plugin and the setup of your use case.
This will allow us to understand the cause much faster and try to find a workaround.

Hi Igor,
Yes, I’m aware of the three options.

I’m asking if it’s possible for a fourth option to be added that is “mouseleave or click”, so that it closes when they mouse away, or they click on the element that’s showing the tooltip.

I will add it to the plugin backlog improvements list and we will investigate how feasible it is to implement the requested feature in the nearest plugin update.
Once it happens - I let you know, but, at the moment, I’m unable to provide you with an approximate time estimate since this feature request is a low priority.
