Twilio Whatsapp Channel Error

Hi, I am receiving the following error when I want to send a test message from my bubble app through Twilio to the registered sandbox participant.

I have gone through your documentation to link Twilio with the plugin. I only need to send a message so the API is unnecessary, none the less have I completed those steps.

What does the error mean? For more context I have completed the 5 steps of sending messages from twilio to and from the registered number. I am only experiencing this issue when I want to send a message via this plugin.

Hi @deon,

Thank you for your message and for using our products.

The error message you’re encountering, “Twilio could not find a Channel with the specified From address,” typically means that the ‘From’ parameter you’re passing to the Twilio API is not recognized as a valid sender ID for your Twilio WhatsApp service.

(Please double-check your app, by using Bubble debugger and inspecting your page to ensure the number “from” is correct, see the screenshots below for reference)

I verified the plugin action Send message on the plugin demo page, and everything worked.

I recommend you check the plugin demo page and ensure you have set up the workflow properly.

Hope this helps, let me know if you successfully resolve this issue.
Regards,

Hi @Igor, thanks for getting back to me.

I have tested my setup as you suggested and my test also shows the from number correctly. My setup is also configured as per your demo as can be seen from my original post.

@Igor Either there is a problem with your documentation or my Twilio Phone Number because the From number in my application I set to my Twilio Phone Number and not the Sandbox From number. Once I set it to the Sandbox From number it worked by sending a message.

I was under the impression I could test my Twilio Phone Number as stated in your documentation.

Hi @deon,
Thank you for your reply.

Can you please share the part from Plugin Documentation that you believe is incorrect? I will double-check with the dev team upon it and let you know.

You can use the Twilio sandbox during the development period until your number is approved for Whatsapp. You can find more details on setup here.

I am looking forward to your reply.
Regards,

Hi @Igor,

Within your documentation it states to use your Whatsapp number and not the Sandbox’s number. It is not really an error looking in hind-sight, just reading that when testing I assumed it should be the number connected to my account and not the Sandbox’s number. The documentation does highlight at point 3.6 the Sandbox’s number. This would only be an error it the documentation was for testing purposes only.

Hi @deon,
Thank you for your reply.

Sorry for any misunderstanding with the plugin documentation, I’ve reviewed it one more time and as it states there, you can use your Twilio numbers for WhatsApp, but first you have to make a request from the Twilio service and get approved. See the link below:

To start using the Twilio API for WhatsApp in production, you need to enable your Twilio numbers for WhatsApp. Head over to request Twilio numbers for Whatsapp: WhatsApp Request Access.

Here you can find more information about Twilio Sandbox number.

I’m glad you resolved this. :slightly_smiling_face:

Feel free to reach out if you have other plugin-related questions, we’ll be happy to collaborate.

Have a great weekend ahead.
