We’re happy to announce that we have just released a new update for the Supabase Pro Kit plugin (version 2.20.0)!
We’ve focused this update on streamlining the MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) workflow to make it more flexible and robust. Previously, some of you experienced issues where SMS delivery and verification were too tightly coupled, leading to redundant messages and rate-limit frustrations.
Here is what’s changed in this version:
- Decoupled MFA Logic: We’ve separated the SMS sending and verification steps. You can now trigger an SMS independently without the system immediately locking into a waiting state.
- Resolved Duplicate SMS & Rate Limits: By splitting the flow, we’ve eliminated the “duplicate SMS” bug and the rate limit collisions that occurred during quick code entries.
- AAL Level Updates: The session now correctly elevates from aal1 to aal2 upon successful verification, ensuring your downstream access control logic works perfectly.
- New Actions: Added specific ‘Challenge MFA’ and ‘Verify MFA’ actions to give you full control over the authentication steps.
- General Improvements: We’ve included several minor fixes to improve overall plugin stability.
