One of the key benefits of Zeroqode’s plugin, particularly for videos, is that it automatically generates thumbnails. However, when the app is converted to a native app, in the APK test file on the iOS platform, it is not generating the thumbnail. It’s showing a blank/dark grey image as a video thumbnail. This is quite frustrating. Ironically, on the Android platform, it is working correctly. Has this been an issue in the past? PLEASE ADVISE.
Hello @tracy.thomas,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns with us.
We’re genuinely sorry to learn about the challenges you’ve encountered with our plugin. To assist you effectively, we need a bit more insight into the situation you’re experiencing. Could you please provide additional details on the following:
-
The specific plugin you’re encountering issues with.
-
The tool or service you’ve used for app wrapping.
-
Have you tried it on more iOS devices or only on one?
It would be immensely helpful if you could capture and share a video demonstrating the problem. Please ensure to enable the browser’s console during this process, especially if there are error messages appearing, and send us the link. This will greatly aid us in understanding and addressing your concerns more accurately.
We’d like to highlight that our plugins are optimized for web use. Given the diverse nature of third-party app wrapping services, which come with their distinct features and libraries, there might be compatibility nuances. Consequently, we cannot guarantee the compatibility of our plugins with applications wrapped by third-party services.
We appreciate your understanding and patience on this matter.
Looking forward to your reply.
Best regards,
Stephan
Thanks for the response. To answer your questions, this is regarding the Responsive and Stylable Video Player plugin. And, it is wrapped using Natively. And, as a correction, I meant the APK file isn’t displaying the automatic thumbnail correctly on the on the Android platform/device, but is working on the iOS device/platform. Finally, am I able to send the Loom video directly as opposed to posting on the public forum?
Hello @tracy.thomas,
Thank you for your message.
We’ve thoroughly tested the plugin across both iOS and Android platforms and are pleased to report that thumbnails and other features are functioning as expected on both. To better understand the issue you’re encountering, could you kindly share how the plugin is performing in your specific setup? Providing a video or a link to a video demonstration would be immensely helpful, as well as the element and workflow settings. Feel free to share this information here, or if you prefer, via a private message.
Additionally, could you please tell us how is the app working in the browser, do you get the same result?
It’s important to mention that if your app has been integrated with a third-party wrapper, we may be limited in our ability to verify or support its functionality under those conditions.
Thanks for understanding and patience.
Looking forward to your response to assist you further.
Best regards,
Stephan
