Wasabi + Video Preview Help for Purchased Plugins

Hi there -

I can upload my files to Wasabi and get URLs for them. As part of the upload process, I would like to display the files (images and videos) as a preview to the user prior to submission. I can get the image previews to work, but I’m struggling to get the video player to work. I have both the Wasabi plugin and Video player plugin purchased from Zerocode and would really appreciate some help.

I’ve documented my setup in this Loom Loom | Free Screen & Video Recording Software | Loom.

Any other information I can provide, please let me know.

Thank you.
Joe

Hi @joemanier, thanks for your message and the detailed video provided.

For your case (to play video after video file upload to Wasabi), I can propose the following solution:

  • after successful file upload (to check this, as a workflow starter you can use the “A Wasabi S3 File Upload Successful” event), you can use the “Play next video NewVideoPlayer” action, which will populate the video element with the right file.

If the video source is indicated directly in the video element, it will not act/play properly.

Please note that if uploaded video files are big (upload time takes more than a few seconds), it is recommended to add some pauses in workflows, to allow files to load & play properly from cloud storage.

Hope the provided hint will help. Drop us a message if there will be any questions that we can help with.

Regards,

Hi @Serg thanks for the advice. When I attempt to add the video element from the “Play next video NewVideoPlayer” action, there is no video element to pick from - please see this Loom Loom | Free Screen & Video Recording Software | Loom. I’ve tried with the existing video element and made a new video element. Thanks. Joe

Could you please also advise how to populate the URL into the “Play next video NewVideoPlayer” workflow action as a dynamic expression?

Hi @joemanier, thanks for your message.

It is a strange thing that isn’t reproduced on our side. Please try to remove the plugin from your app, and add it back, setting the element and related action again.

Here, you can use any of the Wasabi S3 element custom states, that provide file URL:

Hope the provided hints help. Please let me know if there is anything else that I can help with about our plugin.

Regards,

Hi @Serg, that didn’t work for me unfortunately. Cannot use the “Play next video NewVideoPlayer” action because I cannot add the video element to it. Alternatively, I used a different video player and adding a pause plus building the URL part by part seemed do the trick for the other part. Got it solved for now though anyway thanks for the help. Joe

Hi @joemanier, thanks for your reply, let me know that your issue has been solved in a way.
Still, it is strange that the Video Player plugin has not worked properly in your app.

If you will need help with any of our plugins (fix any related issue), please let me know and add our email: support@zeroqode.com to the list of collaborators in your app, so we can do a few tests on our side too.

Have a great week ahead!

Regards,
