Services Plugins FAQs

Zeroqode plugin(s) for video conferencing + screensharing + recording?

Does zeroqode offer any plugin (or set of plugins that can be used in combination) in order to create an app, which includes all of the above:

  1. video conferencing - 6-10 people
  2. screensharing
  3. recording of 1 and 2

Initial research seems like not, but hoping to confirm. Thanks in advance!

Hello @zblender89, thanks for reaching out to us.

You can check out Agora Streaming & Video Conferencing plugin, the plugin will work great for creating an app with video conferencing, screen sharing, and recording functionality.

To get familiar with the plugin’s features and setup I would best recommend you to check the Live Demo and Demo Editor pages, on these pages you can test the plugin and see the how it was setup from the backend (Editor). Besides that please take a look at the documentation articles that comes with the plugin, there you can find all the needed information on how to setup the plugin and connect the needed keys to it.

Let me know if that helped, or if there is anything else we can assist you with.
Have a good day!

Thanks Greg. I’m a bit confused by how the documentation is organized.

I see here you’ve linked the Agora API Connector Plugin and Agora Cloud Recording for Streaming Component. Within those, there’s another link to Agora Streaming & Video Conference 4.5 Can you break down how those fit together for me?

I’d like to understand to what end that these work seamlessly together. It seems like I can record a stream (e.g. record one person’s video and screenshare) or do a real time call / video conference, but cannot do both simultaneously. Is that right?

So the streamer could not say, record their shared video and share screen while having a conversation with audience over video conference?

The use case is for a video consulting app. I’d like to record a meeting with ability to screenshare as I would normally do in Zoom, but all within my bubble app.

Thanks for your help understanding.

Hey @zblender89, sorry for the confusion created by the previous message.

The plugin was recently updated, based on the new Agora version 4.5.
Thus, the plugin has two elements, one for Streaming and other for Video Conferences.
When using the Streaming component it is possible to record and store the video on Cloud. I would best recommend you to check our demo editor page, where you can see how the you can connect the elements inside your app.

You can follow the below documentation article to get acquainted with the plugin and how you can set it up on your side.

Let me know if you have any other question

Thanks so much Greg. Could you just confirm this last piece I’ve stated is accurate?

Using the plugin, one could not develop an app where, someone is sharing their screen (because this is contained within streaming component) while having a two-way conversation with someone over video (because this is video conference component) and those components cannot be used in tandem.

Appreciate your help.

@zblender89,

Yes, you have got it almost correct. You see, the screensharing feature is available only with the streaming functionality. And streaming is not allowing the stream audience to speak with the streamer (as per your need to be able for the streamer to show his screen and communicate with his audience - it can’t be achieved). And yes, you can not run the stream and video conference at the same time on the page.

Always welcome!
